What is the fix. I can't exit games on my switch.

Hello all. New member here. I have Nvidia shields on all TV's in my house, and just bought launchbox to stream via moonlight. I have switch set up and SNES. I can start a game, but I can't exit out. I'm using an Xbox s controller. If I hit the Xbox button it minimizes and goes to the shield dashboard. I use the same controller on my PC, but on the PC I was capable of programming the middle button under the xbox button. I want to say it showed as button 12. How do I do the same thing on the shield. Also I have a dolphin bar in my PC, is there a way to use Wii motes with a dolphin bar plugged into the shield, or could I use a 50 foot USB extender cable so it's connected to my PC.
