  1. This is great news, I was worried that simple fix wasn't gonna do much for you. I mean't to tell you about WMP yesterday morning, i assumed you already changed it. I actually tested with both, WMP/FFmpeg both worked for me. WMP was better though. I am relieved I dont have to redo the grids, I'll look into the sound thing today and make sure it's working ok. I have some logic pertaining to IF a bgm is playing, that might be incorrect. You have been a supporter from the start Vahn, your always the first to subscribe. You were there the entire time i was tinkering with Nostalgic Memories, most of the fragments, and now for this. Your are good friend, great tester, and a loyal supporter. Thank you. I put all your requests on a higher priority level. At the end of the day I don't make a whole lot on there, it's purely just for coffee and food. I do this because I love the games, as much as you guys do. They remind me of a simpler time, a time long past. After I get the lil one on the bus for school, I'll look into the sound issue see if I've made any mistakes in the logic. Then back to working on the game list views
  2. I was going to dm you yesterday about the video issue, to see if they were working for you. Donnel will get around to making a video at some point, but if you want to make one too that also cool. I'll post the videos at the top with donells. I still dont have emumovies so I can't really make a quality video yet. You guys both have been very helpful, I am grateful. Testing the game list menus and looking for bugs is always helpful, they have the most moving parts. The settings i gave a decent testing, but still feel like i might have missed some logic somewhere, if you see anything out of place with the global settings def comment and let me know. Anything you see thats crooked, misaligned, missing, etc. Report it and I'll do my best to fix it up.
  3. OK Vahn, I uploaded a new version with different video snap logic (v2.05). I didn't redo the grids yet because they all look correct. i'd hate to rip them apart when the issue is something simple, like the logic. That new version has video start visible, hopefully that will solve your issue. If not, I'll redo the logic entirely. And if that fails, i will then consider redoing the grids. Before you test it, will you open Launchbox, go to settings > video playback > make sure you have it set to WMP. Just to be safe
  4. Man that video was really helpful. It's crazy how different other peoples builds can be, you have alot of games, and way more platforms than i do. Seeing that wonderswan got me excited to get started on that one day. Seems like its been narrowed down enough, if it works on default theme means its a video logic problem in the game list views. You got the regions filled out right? You know what, it doesn't matter, it should default to USA when no region is found anyway. It bothers me alot that it works fine on my end, but not on yours. I can't think of a reason why it would do that, bothers me. I'll have to go through each view, sucks a little bit but I can't have it not working as intended. Thanks man for making that video, im sure it was a hassle. Most people just grab this and run, they don't even comment! And here you are making a whole ass video, i owe ya one. I'm gonna go redo the game list video grids i guess...Im 9 platforms deep lol, i gotta fix them all more than likely...i've been copy pasting those grids.
  5. It does indeed help quite a bit, that sounds like I have some logic messed up somewhere. I re-did how the covers are structured in this, I did it in a sloppy way back then so I improved the way its handled this time. I try my best to not add a 2nd video element for regions, but sometimes it can't be avoided. PSX is a example of that. When I do that I have to collapse one, I might have some of the logic wrong making those not pop up like they should. I'll dive into that and see whats going on, see if I can replicate it. I should note that every snap starts collapsed, it becomes visible after the box art fades away via a timer. This could also be the issue. It's weird i just tested it for a bit and my snaps and everything work fine, timer seems ok, sound plays. Do you use the default global settings? Need to copy your settings for testing. let me know which ones you disabled. Also, sorry i don't mean to use you as a test dummy first thing in the morning. But can you enter any of the game lists that dont have a theme yet so the default theme triggers, and see if the snaps work there? That one has no logic, it should play with no issue. Testing is difficult because everybody has different media, setups, games, etc. Thanks for all the help testing, even with a borked setup.
  6. I spent a few hours last night testing the bgm and video stuff. BGM does indeed mute when disabled, i also added a timer to the platform video so it doesn't play too quickly. I tested it in and out, it was working on my end. I didn't look too much into the snaps, is it only the gameplay snaps that are messed up? or does it do that in the platform view as well? All game lists use "selected item video", that one should work there isnt much you can do with it. I'll still do some more testing today, i have some logic tied to some of the videos, maybe its off or something. Is there any way you can explain in more detail whats going on with the videos? Does the video not play? its just black area? is it all glitched out? muted? Let's zero in on the video issue and see whats going on, maybe i can isolate it. Sorry about the clear logos, that was my fault. I changed it to read from the theme folder (instead of launchbox) and that wasn't a bright thing to do. Some of the icons are black in there so it hides them, or just doesn't display them because they aren't there. I changed it back last night when i noticed it, it will be available in the next update along with a few other fixes. If anybody else is having video/bgm problems with this theme please post your issues in the comments, I'll do my best to get it fixed up asap. If anybody else can confirm it's working on your end it's helpful as well, process of elimination.
  7. I'll mess around with the bgm/video stuff for a bit today and make sure it's not caused by the theme. It very well could be i haven't tested that very much, it's not very complex so i just assumed it works properly after testing it. When I did the initial test of it I wasted a hour or so trying to figure out why the sound wouldn't mute when the global setting was disabled...it was the video the whole time 😅. The platform video I had set had some sweet synth music and i didnt even realize the bgm WAS off, the music was coming from the platform video. I'll still make sure Hope you get your lb all fixed up soon
  8. I'll take care of ya cam, i'll find a way to get some icons on there for you sometime in the future. I'll just add a global option to turn it on and off. Right now people want the missing platforms remastered, I've been working on mainly that atm while i fix bugs people report (or i find myself). It would be a bigger edit but I could collapse the info docks and replace it with another version, that has those icons. And then they work like the 3d box back, one active and the other not. I'll figure something out when the time comes. Worst case I can make you a custom version with those 2 simple additions
  9. There was a typo in the wheel template for Playstation that was causing a crash for some people, it's been fixed. I'll try to get the fixed version uploaded today. (Thanks bmtkat)
  10. I see...that's what I thought you were asking for. I can indeed do that, although I feel some of the users might feel that throws off the aesthetic so it would need to be optional. Every platform (minus a few) have distinct box back labeling, I try my best to do 1:1 copy of them (if i can) so they all match up with the cover aesthetics. Throwing some game icons right in the middle kind of throws that part off. It also adapts to what info you have for that current game, collapsing and uncollapsing information icons on the fly. You can't see them all but that dock will expand to fully take up all that space (IF that game has all the info required) For psx there are like 10-12 info rectangles, when fully expanded it takes up every inch of that space. If i add the box/cd to that specific area it will move around inside the dock as well. I will try to implement this somehow in the future for you, it likely wont go where the info dock stuff goes though.
  11. Are you talking about adding it to the game views? I have very limited space to work with in that area. Its a struggle already to cram all the info into that little rectangle wheel area. I try not to add 2 of the same thing to any of the game list views because of the limited space due to the large coverbox covers, retroachievements is a exception I sometimes use 2 of those. Theres a huge cover already, and it has a disc animation that shows every 8-10 secs. If you do a quick mockup on paint or photoshop of what you want it to look like I can try to add a option or something, or try to fit it in if it looks aesthetically pleasing.
  12. Thanks for answering that Jack, sorry again to hear your borked up atm. The project isn't going anywhere, it will be here waiting for ya soon as they fix that ffmpeg issue
  13. Thank you camboico, I'm not sure I fully understand what your asking for. I believe you want like a box/cart combo somewhere in the platform view 1? I added cart/disc stuff to that view already but i could add a box there with some animations perhaps if that is indeed what you are asking for.
  14. Thanks vahn, to be honest I didn't get any crashes but i did experience a few long "lags" that I think is due to the ffmpeg issues. I did read that alot of people are having some trouble with that and it only happened to me a few times out of 100+ hours in BigBox. Im sure Jason and the team will get that fixed up sometime soon. As for the sound I believe it's the same ffmpeg issue, in the game lists I use "selected item video" which doesn't allow you to mute the sound. In the platform list I used "User Selected Video" and it does indeed have a mute function, which I did use when BGM is enabled. If you disable the BGM in global settings it will then play sound from the videos in platform view 1. Hope you guys get your builds back up sometime soon, I picked a bad time to release the early access i see.
  15. Alright, Ive added it in and added a option to disable it. When disabled it will revert back to the 2D version. Thanks for reminding me of that Jack, it looks real cool. Nice to see you still lurking around the forums.
  16. Thanks for the input, it helps more than you might think. I also like the 3D box, feels like im almost holding the game. I got a good idea to implement the 3d box for the details and still keep it seemless. I can't add all the metadata but i can have the box back show using the 3d model, I will tinker with this today and see what I can do. If I collapse the entire Case Grid in details it should hide all that behind it, leaving you to freely swivel away at those cases. If I can pull it off I'll add a option to switch between the 2D Box Back and the 3D Box Back so everybody is happy. I rebuilt the whole thing with this in mind, you can turn several things on/off real easy now.
  17. I went with the seamless box back this time, like the fragments and coverbox. The 3D box details screen (which reads alot of metadata) was causing some extra lag when browsing the game list. I've been using the 3D box models for the startup/shutdown themes, so you can spin them around when the game is loading and exiting. If it's a wanted feature perhaps I could squeeze that in somehow, if I added it in without reading all the metadata info it would display the box front (or solid color) when you spin it around, breaking the immersion. Out of curiosity, which did you prefer?
  18. These are real nice Pademonium, thanks for sharing!
  19. These were all made in "text view", just like Coverbox. I don't believe it's possible to use clear logos in text view.
  20. I think I see the issue with those. I had them inside a extra folder, sorry about that. I re-uploaded them, they should work now. If not, let me know. I will look into those sometime today. I built all these with CTC 3.2 and that might be the cause of the startup/pause issues, actually, I know it is. I never went back and rebuilt all these with the newer CTC version that fixes those issues. That will take me a minute, I know in this version those views still need a bit of work. I'll have to grab the older 3.1.5 version of CTC (as thats what I made these with) and re-publish each theme, zip up all the stuff, and re-upload them all. It's Saturday, the best day. I usually spend most of the afternoon with the family, got the pool up and clean, and I am on camera/lifeguard duty while the kids play fast and loose jumping into the pool. I will be busy with that for most of the day, but I will find time to get that fixed up sometime later tonight hopefully. EDIT: Turns out I had some time before all the chaos, I re-uploaded all the themes, and pause/startup themes. I tested with SNES theme and all seems well. Hope that fixes your issues.
  21. thanks for reporting that, it was missing the whole part2 from when it was split on Patreon. I fixed it, you should be good to go now. If you notice any more just shoot me a msg I'll take care of it.

DESCRIPTION: Hello everyone, I spent the last few weeks working on a new style for my platform themes, previously known as Coverbox Fragments, which is based off of Faeran's Coverbox. It's a series of individual platform themes based off of actual console bios/menus. I had first planned to just start where I left off with it and make new fragments for it, that later changed as I felt the need to do more than I did before. I always wanted to make use of all the views, instead of binding myself only to the text view. So, I have a proposition...I want to redo them all in this new style. Knowing that I would have to rebuild the fragments when CTC 3.2 came around was always a thought in the back of my mind. Why wait I say, sounds way more fun to make them all again from scratch with CTC 3.2. Now I can create more views than before, implement the new features of CTC 3.2, and push BigBox to its limit. I decided on a new project name since it isn't focused on one view anymore, i named it Nostalgic Memories because that's what this project reminds me of the entire time I'm making them. I had a lot of fun making this first one, I'm excited to start on another. I plan on making one of these for each platform, I will always use the coverbox fragments style for the text view with all platforms as I did before. NOTE: CTC 3.2 is still being worked on by y2guru, you may notice a few things that aren't all the way finished because of that. Don't worry, I check Dave's Patreon page everyday for updates, as soon as they come in I'll be sure to update them. Marquee view, and animations on the shutdown view are still being worked on. It will be fixed when CTC is updated, the shutdown screen animations I may have to redo I feel that's a error on my end that I can't figure out. As usual, it will take me a day or so to get this looking real nice. Once I do it's off to the next platform, be sure to stop by my patreon and vote, its free. I know some people don't like that I started one, and put fragments behind a paywall. I am here to make that right so the fragments are now free, hope that ends that. I also know that some of you want to help, but don't have a way to buy me stay up late drinks. I will be clear that I'm not out to become a Patreon hero, so don't expect that of me. I believe that if you put effort towards balancing everything out, everybody can be happy. In that regard, I set it up in a way that I thought would make everyone happy. For people that hate the idea of buying anybody a coffee, I provided you with what I did before with way more content, and new views! For people that like to buy others coffee, I have provided you with a means to do so and a special edition with extra views. Equally, both sides get something special, I believe this is the best way. Now that's all said and done, I changed up the Patreon a bit and plan to do so a bit more. I like to hear from everybody so the poll is now public, comments will be public, etc. I like to know what kind of views you guys want added, help me with assets, anything. This is a collection of publisher/developer logos that I use in my themes. With some help from Faeran, I now have a way to load them from one location instead of including them in every platform theme I make. Most of these were pulled from Faerans Coverbox theme, after adding quite a few more from my personal collection we are left with this. I plan to update this in the future, I post them here in the meantime just in case another theme dev wants to add these into their theme. FOR THEMES: If you want to add these to your own theme using CTC, but don't know how, drop these xamls into your themes "User Source" folder. Add a new user source element to a view, and select the proper xaml. They wont show until you build the theme and load up bigbox. It search's LaunchBox\Images\Publishers for the logo, and displays it. Right now it only works if you have 1 company listed in the metadata.
