  1. Thanks for the quick response! That didn't quite fix the problem, but it did give me an idea. With a bit more playing about, it seems that the panel that was being left blank was meant for a marquee image - this is why nothing was showing when it was a console game (except in a few cases where some kind of marquee must have been scraped). Setting this to show box art as second priority to marquees fixed the issue isn most cases. After a bit more playing, it looks like under images - game image type, this was set to marquee. Setting this to boxes cleaned up any other image problems across the system. I think that this second option may have fixed everything without having to play around with the priorities, but everything is working now, so I'll leaving it as is. Thanks again.
  2. Hi all, I'm trying to troubleshoot images not showing up in Big Box. I'm currently running version 13.15, with the default theme. You can see from the attache picture that there is a frame that I'm assuming should be populated, presumably with box art. During set-up I downloaded everything I could from Launchbox and from Emumovies. Does any have any tips? Any idea what image should be shown inside that frame? I could then double check that the correct images are in the correct place. Any other advice is appreciated.
  3. Perfect. In Bigbox: Options-> controller mappings-> close active window I can confirm that this works. Thank you. It's also worth noting that Options-> controller mappings-> exit isn't the same thing!!! This will exit Bigbox, but has no effect when an emulator is running. . . which seems obvious in retrospect. ?
  4. Apologies for posting this again. It seems like a topic that won't die. I've tried everything I can find on the forums and so far, no luck. Situation is this: I use a stand-up arcade cabinet with BigBox. Most emulators are run via retroarch using the buttons on the arcade machine. When a system has a more complex controller set-up e.g. N64, I use a native emulator, in this case Project64. In Launchbox, quitting Project64 works fine. I have clicking in the thumbsticks set-up to do this. When I use BigBox this method no longer works and I need to leave a keyboard next to the arcade machine to allow me to quit using the ESC key. Ideally I'd like to use the same method for quitting in Bib Box as in Launchbox, but I'd settle for any workable solution. Any help is much appreciated - I will follow up on any advice (including the hopefully successful fix) so that there can hopefully be a definitive solution to this. All of the discussions I can find are never closed out so it's never clear whether a given approach actually worked for the OP. Thanks in advance.
  5. Mame (uifx64 0.171) and retroarch (1.3.0) - both have the same behaviour.
  6. Yup. Autohotkey is configured in Big Box. I've also tried to get it to work in Launchbox and it doesn't work there either. Could this be a problem with running Launchbox/Big Box on a Surface?
  7. Tried again with a 360 controller. This time Big Box mode is stable and the controller can control the interface with no issues. Unfortunately, it still isn't possible to quit the running emulator without having to use the keyboard. Set up is as follows: -Options->Controller->enanble game controllers checked. Use all controllers unchecked. ->Controller Autohotkey->Use controller AutoHotKey checked. Hold button: Button 5 (click in left stick); Close the active window (Button 6 (click in right stick). No other buttons are assigned. Clicking in the left stick and holding, then clicking in the right stick has no effect, no matter how long I hold them both in for. Is there any way to check that Autohotkey is correctly installed and configured?
  8. Thanks all, For now I'll try an 360 controller and if that doesn't work, I'll give xpadder a try. Cheers, Greig
  9. Hi All, I'm very close to having a really nice Launchbox set-up on my Surface 3 except for one problem. Ideally I'd like to be able to use Launchbox without having to attach a keyboard, but so far, I'm not having much luck. Config is as follows: - Surface 3 - Windows 10 - Launchbox 5.8 and corresponding BigBox - Xbox One controller When I try and set up either Launchbox or BigBox to use the controller to navigate either program will freeze. Any thoughts? I don't really need to use the controller to navigate, but I do need some way of quitting an emulator without having to use the escape key. Ideally Launchbox and/or BigBox would work with the controller, but I'm open to alternatives. Cheers, Greig
  10. That's it!! Thank you!! Greig
  11. Hi All, Hopefully I am missing something obvious, but I cannot get videos to show in the sidebar of launchbox. I have the following: 1. Launchbox 5.8 2. Premium version. 3. Paths to the videos are correct when I select a ROM. I've attached a screenshot. The image on the right is a screenshot from the game and not a video. Thanks in advance
  12. I think I might have solved this. I converted a 7z to zip using Bitser and now it works fine. Basically it seems that (at least on my system) Launchbox will not work with 7z files, only with zip. I just need to find a way of batch converting thousands of ROMs from 7z to zip. . . .
  13. Just tried MAME as well and this is also a bust. ROMs run fine from within MAME and hyperspin, but when starting from Launchbox, none of the files inside the zip file can be found.
  14. Same problem here. Zipped roms do not load in Retroarch when launched from Launchbox. I've checked the ROMs in my Hyperspin setup and they work fine there and Retroarch can launch them fine when running standalone. Is there some command line that has to be added when setting up Launchbox to tell it to unpack compressed files?
