I am super excited to announce that the XBOX 360 Retail Video Snaps set is finally out. For this 1.0 release we have 1,144 new video snaps for you guys. This was the first major pass at this, didn't include any kinect only games yet, live service games are of course excluded and there are quite a few others that I couldn't get to easily run that may also be mission, but it is rather complete. After 2 years of effort we here at EmuMovies have finally completely re-recorded and remade the complete MAME video snap set. The previous set had its roots going back 16 years and things look so much better now. The new videos are available in 1080p, 480p and 240p sizes depending on your use case and are available on the website in 240p quality and on our FTP and Sync services in all quality levels. Thanks to our internal team for helping to get all these done, edited and available. We will keep posting updates to our sync and ftp services monthly as new titles come out (we are working on another update right now) but if we don't just stop and announce our progress nobody will know! So please take a moment and refresh your video snaps, you will be glad you did. It’s back up, sorry about that. The auth bug crept back up and we thought we smashed it for good this time. Sorry for the couple hours of downtime folks.

This is a weird one, just checked and it seems to be working fine. I show about 80 users currently logged in through launchbox. I'll keep digging and please feel free to put a support ticket in at emumovies since this is not a global issue. It's possible there is just an outage somewhere in between the server and the end user. Edit did some further testing from home, added a system in launchbox, set EmuMovies as the only media to scrape, and everything worked just fine. So please if you are for some reason having an issue please submit a ticket and we will try to see what the problem you are having is.

It was a glitch in the authorization system this morning. It’s fixed, sorry about that.

It’s been in private alpha testing for a couple of years now. Everything kept very hush hush. I’ve had it running on my cab for months. They just dropped a HyperTheme demo and there is a full demonstration livestream happening right before the launch. Gonna be an interesting weekend, that’s for sure. HyperSpin is what you expect for a 2025 version, everything else (HyperHQ/HyperTheme) is a bit shocking.

This is great info, never knew that. We added music 2 weeks ago to mame and it was submitted using launchbox naming vs rom naming. Had no idea that would break the integration. Now that I realize whats happening that makes sense. We will pull down the music category for MAME on the LaunchBox server until such time we can get those files renamed.

I’ll run this up the flagpole, I don’t think it’s on the emumovies side as all the files are present and it’s only mame being affected.

Hey thanks ☺️ It’s possible there is a glitch in how LB is scraping, I have no control over that, but it’s my understanding that it matches a few ways and rom names are one of them. So I would just be wildly guessing as to what the issue is there. I won’t see my test rig until Monday, going to the CAX game show in Santa Clara.

We haven’t been getting any error reports besides this. All files are present but I won’t lay eyes on my launchbox install until Monday, so I cannot test myself. Have you tried going into your global launchbox settings and verified that all video formats are selected for emumovies?

@Shad8 iI will take a quick stab at this without knowing your exact details. If I get this wrong please submit a support ticket over at EmuMovies and we can investigate further. If I am reading this right you are getting some videos but many are missing. The only way I can see this happening is if you had HD as the only video format selected. We do not as yet have a full HD set but in launchbox if you select HD and HQ it will grab HQ videos when HD is not present. If that’s not it please send in a support ticket and we can check if there is anything going on with your account. @JoeViking245 i also did a double check on outrun. And the files are all present. Not sure if there is a glitch in the lb db or something. But videos can also be grabbed individually from the FTP if needed. I did do a full database cache rebuild in case that was the issue.

There has been some work on ps4. Nothing released yet as I believe we are waiting on an emulator. All PS4 caps were done using a jailbroken ps4 pro. So hopefully when emulation matures we are ready for it.

Today we dropped some new video snaps for the Nintendo Switch. The set is now at 3,520 videos covering hopefully most of what people need. There is an almost unlimited amount of games (shovelware) for this system. I think the total is now somewhere north of 16,000 games in the library. So here is what we are asking, if you are still missing some videos for installed games or find an error, please let us know in the EmuMovies request section on the forums and we can prioritize those videos on the next round.
