  1. Thanks, I had previously tried those and for some reason certain games that I tested ran really slow when those shaders were loaded. The best I could find was from the built in shaders, I used "lcd3x.cgp" under the "shaders\shaders_cg\handheld" folder. That seems to be the closest to the real LCD effect that I could find.
  2. I probably won't be playing many games all the way through. It's more just for nostalgia than anything else I guess. It was really cool to be able to see the gameboy games in the lame green tint with a gameboy overlay on them. I had the gamegear years later as a hand me down and loved playing it. It'd be cool to have it look like the old gamegear system. Something to show off to friends and stuff like that.
  3. Yeah I found an overlay that makes the screen smaller with a image of the game gear handheld. I just haven't been able to get the right look for the crappy LCD screen that the GameGear had. I'll keep playing around with the settings and let you all know if I find anything.
  4. I have been able to install overlays and shaders for all of the Gameboy variations and get them looking pretty close to the actual physical screen appearance. There doesn't appear to be one for Sega Game Gear in Retroarch or elsewhere. I've searched on the web and on this site, as well as libretro's site and haven't found any information on this. I wanted to see what others are using for their Game Gear and Atari Lynx shaders to get it close to the physical screen look.
  5. I'm sure it probably will prompt me if I restart the app. I was just saying that since I was still on 6.6 I don't think it was that issue that you all were talking about before. Because I had added other "custom" platforms in the past and had no issue. Whatever it was it's working the way I wanted now, so I'm happy.
  6. I'm still on 6.6 at the moment. I hadn't been prompted to update yet.
  7. Just a followup on this issue from the OP. After I removed all the platforms that I could think that the lightspeed tool might have created and recreated the CPS1 and CPS2 from scratch all is working as expected. They point to the cores that I set them to and not to the Arcade core. Something in that utility must've hard coded a path in the XML somewhere. I haven't updated the Beta version that was mentioned in some of the other posts, so I don't know that this was the cause of my issue.
  8. I think I know what happened. When I first started working with LB I used the lightspeed tool to import mame and it auto categorized some games as CPS, so it must've pointed the paths to Arcade. I removed those platforms and am going to recreate from scratch. Either way I know how to fix it. Thanks for the help everyone.
  9. I actually got it to work by setting FBA as the default core for Arcade as well. It seems to use that instead of the Capcom CPS1 settings for some reason.
  10. Yeah my last resort was to use a stand alone emulator. I just liked the idea of having everything in Retroarch since it's a cleaner setup. More of a neat freak thing than an actual problem though. :-)
  11. Yeah I know that's what has me stumped. I've used retroarch for all of my console games and haven't had a problem. I added Neo Geo games in the same manner using the FBA Neo Geo core and that works fine in LB. I'm going to try a stand alone emulator to see if that works. Thanks for the help everyone.
  12. Ok, I tried fb_alpha_libretro.dll also and it's the same thing. I updated the core from the online updater in retroarch. It works fine in retroarch when loading content, but launchbox just flashes the screen and doesn't even open up the retroarch window. There isn't a log file that will tell me what went wrong? I'm guessing it's a path problem somewhere, but I've looked everywhere I can think and not finding anything.
  13. The names for everything were already in Launchbox when I imported the roms. I just selected them from a list. I do not have that box to extract roms selected. I included a screenshot of the core I am using in retroarch, and did confirm that it does work outside of Launchbox.
  14. I have confirmed the games launch in Retroarch, but when adding to Launchbox nothing happens when clicking on them. I have confirmed that the cores are updated under Retroarch emulator settings. The same FBA core works when I open Retroarch outside of Launchbox and manually launch a game. Is there some kind of log file that will show me where the problem is? I have installed many other cores in retroarch without issue. See screenshots for relevant information.
