  1. So It appears the root of the issue lay somewhere with the Nvidia HDMI audio drivers and their interaction with Bigbox. Once I switched to a normal 3.5mm jack/realtek HD audio everything works fine again. The game slowdown was also resolved by this, so It was related. Thanks for all the troubleshooting help. This workaround is fine for my purposes.
  2. I will try that, but I meant fresh install of Launchbox not windows. I have done far too much software work on this cab to wipe it =P
  3. I have now tried downloading and installing 6.8 over my current install, which did not help. Next I deleted bigbox.exe and ran the 6.7 installer, which replaced the exe but that also did not work. I then allowed it to update back to 6.8, When I did this, I heard menu scroll sound effects for the first 2 things I scrolled through, then the sound went dead again and games launched through Bigbox are still running incredibly slowly/soundless. I then uninstalled my audio drivers and installed the latest Nvidia display/audio drivers for my card, same problem. I suppose the next logical thing to try is a fresh install with a few games added as test, then if that works, attempt to figure out what setting/file is causing my existing installation to have these problems. Unless anyone has any other ideas, It looks like I'll being doing a lot of testing tonight. I am also going to try opening up my "Cabinet" (Its a coffee table, so flip it over) and see if I can wire up a normal audio cable instead of using audio over HDMI to see if that changes anything.
  4. Thanks, I will try this tonight. I will first try downloading and installing 6.8 over my existing install if it will allow me, just to make sure that a reinstall isnt what it needs, If that fails or isnt allowed by the installer, ill use the 6.7 downgrade, if that fails, ill re-update to 6.8.
  5. I changed the video playback engine to WMP from VLC, No changes. I am not using any gameplay videos and they are not enabled. I tested launching games from Launchbox instead of big box, they played at full speed and with no sound issues. When I launch bigbox, I do hear the startup sound, but as soon as the menu loads all sound stops. While bigbox is running, I get no sound from any applications, and youtube even runs at 1/3 speed with no sound. as soon as I close bigbox everything works again. I am newish to the program, Is it possible to reinstall without nuking all my databases and settings?
  6. I am running windows 7 64 bit, Using onboard sound through HDMI. I have tried restarting both the sound device, and the computer. Thanks for the quick reply.
  7. I just updated from I think 6.7 to the latest build and I am getting no sound in the bigbox menus, or any games launched through bigbox. In addition, all games launched through bigbox run very slowly. When launching directly through mame or retroarch, sound and speed are fine. All other applications have no sound issues. Is it possible to downgrade to the previous build? The current is unusable for me.
