Ahh, I haven't played around with MAME much yet. Only two things that come to mind is maybe that key is double bound or set to activate on press and release? Could also be an issue with the controller perhaps, is the problem replicated in other programs?

I was having a bit of a similar issue, but I found the root cause to be steam in my case. Are you running BigBox through steam?

Just a quick note, 2 days ago everything was working just fine and I haven't touched any settings since then.

So I'm having a weird issue where BigBox doesn't seem to be reading inputs from controllers beyond 1 and 2 through my steam link. The controllers themselves work fine, as I can control steam and open BigBox with either controller 3 or 4, but once BigBox is open they no longer have any input. This remains true inside emulators, as I can't play with more than two players. EDIT: Well, after restarting my computer the issue seems to have resolved, but now I'm getting a new quirk. After entering a game (in this case, Mario Party 7 via Dolphin) once I'm on character select the controllers 1 and 2 switch which player number they control. At least it's functioning now though
