  1. Really love the new Discovery Center - loads of fun finding games hidden away I have not seen or played in ages!

I have one issue however, games that are marked hidden show up in the Discovery Centre - it would be more useful if that flag was taken into consideration for the games being displayed.

If a platform or game is hidden by the user having show up in the Discovery Centre is confusing I find.

  2. I’ve not used lock - just made sure was no pin set and option allow sleep in lock is checked just in case

I also found and checked “allow the computer to sleep while not in attract mode” whilst looking for the above option - I have never engaged attract mode, but that option was not set - to be honest I have never seen that option before and they has been sleeping.

Anyway I did both it and still no sleep on either system.

So I rebooted - still no sleep

Then I put attract mode on - no sleep, turned it off and both PC’s now sleep!!!!

  3. Odd observation on both my systems running the latest beta - if they are running BigBox they don’t sleep.

If it’s the desktop Launchbox UI active the systems behave as expected, but with BigBox whilst the screens turn off as desired the systems never enter sleep mode.

The two PC’s share nothing in common hardware wise (one an AMD Ryzen system with a 6600 gpu, the other an intel based with a 2070), but exhibit the same behaviour with BB…

Try resetting the emulator .exe path. I got that error with Citra and to be honest I do not remember exactly what I did, but I remember reselecting the path was one of the last things I did and the error went away. Again, not saying that was the fix, but worth a try.

    Edited:

Just got the error with PS3. Changed the exe path to a completely different emulator and saved it and exited the Manage Emulators screen. Then went back in a edited it back to the correct exe path and no error. If that did not work try closing LB after you make the first change. Then reopen LB and edit it back to the correct .exe path.

This seems to work at first, doing this fixed all the emulators showing the issue in Launchbox, flipped over to BigBox and the error reappeared, then closed BB and opened LB again and the error is back for all the emulators I "fixed" sadly...

Closed Launchbox. 10 minutes later, tried opening Launchbox again and it said the Launchbox session was still open, check task manager, etc. Computer was idle, CPU and RAM nowhere near being full use.  Tried again 5 minutes later, still the case.

    Hi,

I get this issue on both a long standing system and a reasonably fresh installed system (setup from BETA 10.8) running the latest BETA too.

Both BigBox and LaunchBox stay running, seen in the task manager, for a long while after exiting the application. Typically I use BigBox and once I exit that I see it in task manager with usage fluctuating between 0 and 0.5% CPU and stays active sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes for hours (at which point I end the task).

I have 33 platforms on one system and 15 on the other - around 10K roms on each...

I too had Front Box art end up as Background art, and I thought it was some error that happened while I was downloading some metadata media for Primal Rage and at random the Beta pop-up froze it to where I had to force it all to close, but seems I'm not the only one who had this happen. Had to go in an rearrange the Background priorities all over again, and I think I had to do that with some other stuff, but the Backgrounds for sure had to be fixed back.

The slight oddity was I went in removed all the background image types and all good, then on reboot they were all selected again - so had to deselect twice.

Updated my second system and had the same issue, needed to do it twice to stick...

Thankfully now all good, and I am once again serenely enjoying Launchbox!

PC gamepass is sorta a big deal for me to easily import. GOG handles it real well, but id rather just have everything in Launchbox. :)

I too use Game Pass and just create windows shortcuts to the games and import those - works like a champ, admittedly it is manual though - I guess you are using the same process?

  7. So just got 10.15-beta-2 and in BigBox I have HUGE box artwork as the background behind each game in the carousel which looks real nasty ?

I changed no settings so something is no longer respecting my preferences (I use a platform specific image behind all games - which is pulled from Images\Platforms\PlatformName\Fanart) which until today has been working just fine (my theme is ModernMini)...

On my front room system which is locked to non-beta releases, so is on 10.14, it works just fine...

    Any suggestions?

  8. Further playing around and I am finding that in my case I do not see a black screen at all, just loss of focus.

Whilst I have not used the windows game features much before I am now seeing games which in previous versions of BB were 100% reliable become flaky at returning control to BB.

But that is happening frequently and unlike previous versions - so I am experiencing issues I have not seen before.

  9. Hi,

I've just started to play with windows games (Steam, GOG, windows store) and find that the regaining focus back to Big Box on exit of a given game is very hit and miss and in fact is inconsistent.

I find that some on exit return focus 100% of the time and some are quite random, and it's not based on the source - so I see erratic behavior from Celeste (Steam) and Cuphead (Windows Store) - but 100% reliable functioning from GRIP and Gris (Steam).

I have setup an xpadder ALT/TAB button to let me regain focus, but the inconsistency is a little annoying.

  10. Hi,

In the latest Beta I am experiencing sound issues - I have latest windows 10 with all updates on a Razer Blade (2017) laptop.

What I experience is that is if I launch Dolphin through BigBox I get no sound, if I launch it from the desktop interface all sound is fine...

Once I get the issue all sound is missing in the BigBox UI and subsequent emulators I launch.

I realise this may be some bizzare coincidence - but it only started today after LB updated to the latest version (8.4 Beta 2) ..

    Anyone else afflicted this way?

  11. I have a fear of MESS - bourne of nothing more than using it many years ago and it driving me insane - but this was a decade ago...

Are there not strict naming and organising of rom requirements to make MESS work - my collection is accreted somewhat...

  12. Do you have a pointer towards the Nostalgia information like that - I see the same issue with Blockade runner too..

I wanted to use JzIntv, but I cannot get any good quality screen display out of it, if I use the presets it's never full screen or if it is it is blurry and using a custom resolution as per the setup instructions seems to make it crash every-time...

  13. Hi,

I'm trying to sort out an oddity I experience using Nostalgia for Intellivision emulation.

All my ROMs work fine in Nostalgia itself, but some will not play when I try and launch them through Launchbox's menu.

I can play Demon Attack just fine from the Nostalgia menu, but I get an "unable to load game from file" pop up in Launchbox if I try to boot the same ROM from there.

The files are all in .int format

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
