Hi, I had the same problem when trying to get the RetroArch - NeoGeo Pocket Color core to work and found this thread. Nothing worked for me but in the end I just started trying everything. I had to put the core default line in both Associated Platforms (like it says on the YouTube tutorials) and also add it to the Emulator Details:

Once it was in both places, it worked. Hope that helps you.

I had the same problem on the latest .Next build, but I found an alt way to fix it.

You don't need to fill in either Default or Extra CL Parameters. Just right-click on a game -> Edit -> Emulation -> Check "Use Custom CL Parameters" -> Type the corresponding parameters.

You need to do the same for every single game, but it's guaranteed to work, even if you use RA for multiple platforms (as in my case).

Have you unticked window mode in teknoparrot ?

does it work in teknoparrot standalone?

No, it was checked, but I unchecked it a tested it again. NOTHING

Also, It didn't work before too. I guessed loading it in a frontend like LB would help

    DID I GET A BAD DUMP ?

Ok so I sorted it with a little (a lot) help from a friend! It’s a different method to what’s been posted so I’ll walk it through in steps to help anyone else that needs it!

first set up all the games in the teknoparrot emulator directly so that it generates a .xml file for each (stored in the emulator folder in userprofiles folder)

You use these .xml files to import the games into launchbox (names will have to be manually changed when scraping info

set teknoparrot up as an emulator pointing to the technoparrotui.exe and ticking the boxes shown in the attached photo.

    add the command line

    --profile=

and that’s it ! The game loads using the settings from technoparrotui

Now all I need to do now is work out how to fix the mouse curser to reach the whole screen on the shooting games !

I guess it may be related to the emulator's config, but I did what you did and the emu crashed after a black screen.

Game is Mario Kart DX, the configs in TeknoParrotUI are set.

  4. I have recently added metadata/details for a new game, and it's approved atm. But my LB still doesn't recognize it.

I was asking for a feature that you update the metadata for your LB 'forcibly', I recently found a post by Jason Carr on BitBucket that shows something like this as a Premium feature.

I have Free edition, so I should wait for next "Update your metadata" notification?

  5. I still have problems with file extensions in RA. The .BIN extension (maybe) is STUCK to Mednafen PCE-CD core that I installed.

My target is a Super A'Can roms that MESS runs it; but the roms are in .bin format and even if I select MAME core, the upper bar shows that PCE-CD core has been opened. HELP

the 2.5 GHz part is concerning it means you couldn't run full bsnes accuracy core for SNES so yeah that may struggle a little with Saturn did the threaded video setting have any effect on the game.

I said that it's already FALSE. Turning it to TRUE also obviously has not a positive effect.

yeah boss saying you have a i7 could mean you have a 920 from 2009 or a 7770K from the latest series of intel chips so that doesn't really help out.

WTH you are saying my system is a potato for this ?!

P.S.: I checked out the cfg right now. Threaded video is already false.

You will have to open RA and go to info and see which file types that the system excepts I don't believe for Saturn you are going to be able to use mdf or iso but you should check and Mednafen Saturn core is better because it is more accurate but with that it becomes more resource intensive if you are having stuttering issues you can try turning on threaded video but it will come with a slight increase in input lag. What are your system specs

    CPU i7

    GPU AMD Radeon R7 350

    OS Win 8.1

  9. I used the conversion tools and the prob with .iso also fixed. By the prob with .mdf is not still fixed: I converted it using IsoBuster (Extracting Raw data) and converting it using PowerISO. But the converted .cue file boots the system bios and errors that "Disc unsuitable for this system". Bummer.

If you are 100% certain you have the correct bios and Retroarch is detecting them and happy with them and you have the correct command line parameter there are only 2 possibilities left. Bad disk images or you are not pointing to the .cue sheet.

Generally speaking you want your disk images to be in .cue + .bin format, multiple bins are fine as long as they are all indexed in the .cue sheet.

Yo it worked for .bin ones. But what about .mdf or .iso dumps? No other way?

Also, the sound is a bit choppy, in comparison to Yabuase. Is this normal? (Why the heck that Steve Austin says it's better than Yabause?!)

  11. I wanna use latest version of RetroArch (1.6.3) for Saturn. I have downloaded three cores of Mednafen: Lynx, PCE-CD and Saturn. When clicking the game directly from LB, opens nothing. When loading the Saturn core from RetroArch itself and selecting the Saturn game, it loads up the screen with the bar saying that it's PCE-CD core!!! (So, black screen.) But why? (maybe because games of both systems come in ISO.)

P.S.: PCE-CD core was the first Mednafen core that I downloaded.

PP.S.: Don't advice me for some ABCs, I have the BIOS and core dll filename is typed in the parameters field correctly.

Ah, then if it's not even launching outside of LaunchBox, then it's most certainly a BIOS or bad disc image. In some cases, like N64 and PS1, since they're using different rendering engines in some cases, and things are wildly different, you need to have your settings set very carefully, and you can't use shaders. For most everything else, leaving things at default and it should work just fine, so if it is then that leaves the BIOS and Disc Images.

Finalllllllllllllllllllllly :-) The prob is fixed for me a bunch of days ago. I should load up .cue files in LB instead of .bin files. All worked well in RA.

    Close the thread plz

  13. You are teaching me the alphabets. I know that name rescraping. (e.g. Also, LB is not punctation or case sensitive for game title.) Hah.

I mean (probably) after that cache deleting, all box fronts and some other pics was disappeared from LB interface. The ones which had Box 3Ds showed it. I also "refreshed all" it. No effect. I today tried it with some PC games that aren't in LB DB, so I would save a single Box Front for each at Images\Windows\Box - Front. I am sure the filename is same as the name that I scraped in LB with it. But the picture file didn't auto-scrape.

Also, for the platforms that I scraped them witb another name, I am sure that I put them into the folder with new name. So this is also out.

  14. 2 minutes ago, spycat said:

Deleting the Cache folder is no big deal, You can even delete it while LaunchBox is running. I've deleted mine on a number of occasions. LaunchBox creates a new Cache folder. If your images have not refreshed then select Tools and Refresh All Images.

I say, suddenly the box arts alongside with carts and screenshots have been "faded" from launchbox screen (I don't say removed cuz they are still in the Images folder, but -maybe- not recognized by LB anymore.) I am nearly sure that this issue has a connection with cache. I also "Refresh"ed them all, but no effect.

Currently you would go to a game in LB and use ctrl+e to open the edit window and there is a checkbox. Hopefully it will be added to BB as some point. Not sure what you mean on the 2nd one

I mean that alongside the Platform logos, There is a "empty" icon i.e. LB logo frame, which counts ALL games as its total games. ??

No, the default box only matters during import. I'm not sure how BizHawk handles things, so I can't speak to how that works. If something is not launching in RetroArch through LaunchBox, then a setting is off. It can simply be the names aren't matching, the right name isn't in the associated platforms page correctly, or the command line parameters are off. It could even be some of the check boxes or extra command lines that shouldn't be there (if you added any), the BIOS or the games could be bad, the cue sheet specifically could be wrong, it could be any number of things.

Currently, the inaccuracy is priory RA-based than LB-based, cause it tested them again on RA without LB, and got black screen again.
