  1. Hi,

Thanks Zombeaver for the input.  I did not go with your suggestion. For Aliens extermination I only have a virtualbox image with Windows Xp and the game installed on it.

Since we all have to stay home, I came back to give it another try. I managed to do it.

First I went into Virtualbox manager, I selected my virtual machine, right-clicked on it and created a shortcut on desktop.

I put that shortcut in a dedicated folder for emulators and roms.

I added the game in my wanted platform, then in game properties :

    - in launcher, application path, choose the shortcut file. If wanted, add --fullscreen command line

    - in emulation, untick "use emulator for this game"

I'm not sure for the option names because I am using these applications in French.

  2. Yes and it can be any game on any platform, it's a really weird behaviour. In 20 platforms maybe 12 are concerned and within these platforms maybe 5 to 10% of the games lose random pictures : mostly front cover and fanarts.

Can anyone tell which file stores the images location ? Perhaps I could make a backup of this file and restore it in case.

  3. Hi guys,

I had Launchbox 7.9 working fine until a month ago it started messing with cover pictures randomly. When I check the images folder everything's fine, I have everything in there but most pictures won't show up in launchbox or in the rom properties when I edit it. I can add manually the images and then it shows normally.

It seems really random as it happens to games I've played recently or games I haven't played at all.

  4. Hi.

I'm playing Perfect dark with Retroarch Mupen64plus core, PD is one of the few n64 games that support widescreen. So I set aspect ratio to 16:9 and go to the options with the widescreen and 16:9 settings activated.

Sometimes when moving camera picture gets distorted like it is overstretched in some part of the screen.

Can anyone test if it is a common issue ? I also wonder if it is the same on original n64.

  5. I had difficulties to launch some of my games, I downloaded both beetle and pcsx cores. Beetle is for having original resolution I guess, graphics are closer to original.

And I could not make pcsx work so I dropped it since epsxe was working for me, I didn't want to bother.

Also I have epsxe on android and I sync both system's save files.

Those sound like playlists, not platforms. If you go to Tools -> Manage Platforms, and delete a platform from here, well the games will be orphaned unless you let LB also remove the game, but that should remove the platform from being in the LaunchBox file structure at all (unless there is media for it). It should remove the XML or references to it.

If you remove the game, and a platform has 0 games, it also wont show up at all. If those are playlists, then you'll need to go to the playlist section and deal with them. In the left bar, on the top, is a drop down menu. Click that, then playlists. You can right click playlists for some options or right click the empty space to bring up the playlists menu.

From that drop down on the left of LB, you can also select Platform Categories. That's how I have mine set, so everything is under Consoles, Handhelds, Computers or Playlists. You need to edit a playlist and tell it what platform category to be in if you go that route,.

Great, that was it. I deleted playlists and it shows exactly as I hoped. Thank you.

  7. My problem here is that launchbox side bar is showing too many platforms in the side bar, I like having essentials, something clean.

I delete unwanted platforms which contain sometimes only one game, like "cave" "midway classics" or "sammy atomiswave". But everytime I add a new game, these platforms keep coming back and then I'd have to delete them again.

    So that's it.

  8. Hi,

I am using Dolphinbar and wiimotes to emulate lightgun with mame games. Everything is working only that sometimes the controller name changes. S it changed from guncode1 to guncode5 then guncode6 recently. It is very annoying to have to remap the keys or have to retype the cfg file.

Could this be because I paired another controller or I switched dolphinbar mode ?

How can I avoid that ?

I've been looking for a solution for this myself for a while. I use Bigbox on my tv through the steam link with an xbox 360 controller, and wanted an easy way to close epsxe with the controller without an external program, or losing the guide button
which I can use for the steam overlay. After doing some digging, I came up with this custom autohotkey script that you can add to the epsxe emulator in launchbox.
This will allow epsxe to be closed by holding down the start button, and pressing the back button on the 360 controller. Cheers!

So I just have to copy paste your script into the emulator autohotkey script menu right?

I still did not manage to make it work. Pressing start and back did not do a thing.

  10. I tried both script solution (with alt f4 or escape) and also tried Lilypad, both didn't work.

For the ahk script, it showed the confirmation on exit when I pressed my gamepad exit combination.

As  for Lilypad, it did not work at all.

The RocketLauncher stuff is not the best solution I agree, I understand that in fact it is not RocketLauncher that closes the confirmation box, in fact I set same combination for exiting emulator in both RocketLauncher and Launchbox, so when I am playing and press my exit buttons both RocketLauncher and Launchbox catch the input, so it presses twice exit and I have no exit confirmation.

I was using RocketLauncher for emulator bezels anyway so it does not bother me. I still do not understand why the AHK script did not work though.

  11. The solution I found was using RocketLauncher.

It is a bit more complicated than using Launchbox alone but it is worth have it working: when you configure your ePSXe emulator with RLUI, you go to "Settings", "Main Settings", "controls" then set your exit emulator key with your gamepad.

    It works flawlessly.

  12. Hi

Lilypad is not working for me. I have another issue with Lilypad, when I exit with esc key, screen resolution does not reverse back to Windows resolution (1920x1080) but remains in ePSXe resolution (1280x960).

I don't have this issue with epsxe core input. So I guess I'll stay with it but still feeling annoyed of the confirmation on exit.

  13. I finally found the global setting editor for demul ahk module, I found in it many different setting for many different types of games: sf fighting game style, driving style etc. I managed to edit the buttons by typing in buttons codes I found in Demul's padDemul.ini.

Also the Demul fullscreen issue is resolved, I managed to find in module settings the true fullscreen option.
