  1. You probably haven't added it to your platforms yet. You can add it manually or import something for Sega CD and Launchbox will do the rest.

    Also zip files aren't suported. You'll need to extract the archive into a folder and then import the cue.

    For CD based games, I have all of mine in their own folders just cause some have multiple bin files and it could get messy. I just search my system folder for .cue, drag all my cue files into launchbox, and then import as Rom files leaving everything in their current folders (When It asks if I want to Move, copy, or leave as is)

    Attached is my Sega CD directory just to give you an idea

  2. In Windows, go into your game controllers, click "advanced" and make sure your preferred device is the controller your using. Sometimes it could be set to a different controller or none by default.

    Retroarch can be a little frustrating at times. Either it detects my controller and still doesn't work, or it does work but I can't map the buttons.

    This helped tremendously @Kolk1604.  Now if you do not mind me getting a little more specific, how would this work if I wanted Retroarch to use the specific bezels for specific arcade systems.  For example, if I want the CPS3 bezel to be used when playing a CPS3 title how could I get Retroarch to choose that specific bezel?  Obviously Launchbox has them sorted by system, but how does Retroarch do this as well all while using the same MAME core?

    Sorry I don't know and i'm not real familiar with arcade systems. The only way I can think of is if you can load more than 1 config per core. Like if MAME was able to tell which arcade system your using and then load that config file. So like if you used MAME to launch CPS3, it would load CPS3.cfg or something.

    Or maybe using a different core for CPS1,2, and 3. Like FBA or something?

    Actually, I am a big proponent of not using RocketLauncher, in fact, it will add more steps and make things more confusing. Right now, don't focus on using the -c command for custom configs, just make sure to get things launching first. But do keep in mind, you actually need custom configs in the configs folder for them to work. RetroArch's core and game override feature has also gotten much better too. For Overlays, only MAME and RetroArch handle them (and maybe some other emulators, but those are the two main ones). For other emulators you'd need to use RL for that, but again, If overlays are all you want then RL is not a solution at all in my book.

    That's true.

    I've always used Hyperspin and Retroarch isn't supported a supported system since it's pretty much dead and not really updated anymore. RL made it work really well.

    @Kolk1604 thanks man I'll try it out! I'm quite new to the wonderful world of emulation, but I'm learning :) And this RocketLauncher works good in conjunction with LaunchBox as well, right?

    Yeah, it does. For the platform your using, you just need to set your emulator to RocketLauncher and it will do the rest. You also need to set Launchbox as your default frontend in RocketLauncher.

    Sorry me and retroarch don't seem to play well together, I've done just fine with most stand alone emulators but retroarch is killing me lol.

    You should try Rocketlauncher. You can use it to manage your cores and load custom config files. It's amazing.

  7. Retroarch can handle this directly.

    Download the two files attached and save them to Retroarch/overlays/borders. Now open retroarch and go to settings--->Onscreen Display----->Onscreen Overlay. Make sure "Display Overlay" is on and then select "Overlay Preset" which is the 3rd option down. Go to your overlay folder is retroarch and select "NintendoEntertainmentSystem.cfg" Exit out of the menu and your bezel should be there.

    So if you noticed, I included a config file which is required. There aren't any config files with what your downloading. All I did was use one that came with retroarch and just changed the name. So if this works then you just need to change the name of the config files to match the name of your bezel. So for example.

    I used gb,cfg Open it and I get

    "overlays = 1overlay0_overlay = gb.pngoverlay0_full_screen = trueoverlay0_descs = 0"

    See the gb,png? Change it to

    "overlays = 1overlay0_overlay = NintendoEntertainmentSystem.pngoverlay0_full_screen = trueoverlay0_descs = 0"
