I got my first look at Launchbox when I finished my arcade cabinet build. I think it was version 6, but I am not sure.
Anywho, I really love the LB and bought the 1 year premium license and did a few updates. Everything has always worked perfectly with LB and Big box.
Yesterday I booted up my arcade for the first time in over a year. Played on it for a few hours and had a few issues with lag and finally Windows crashed and my computer rebooted. When I startad lb again I got the error message "root element missing". I read a few threads on the topic, but took the Lazy way and updates my 7.10 version to 8.3 (somehow I had an update file in the lb folder). After the update Launchbox started and I got a huge error report in LB. I tried to play a few games without any issues, but then i tried to boot big box. I Loaded my old license file and entered big box. The app crashed.
At first I tought that BB crashed since I Loaded the old expired license file. So I renewed my license and tried again, same issue.
I uninstalled lb and tried again with the newest 9.8 version. And this time lb was not able to start. Windows reported an issue and the app closed.
Repeated the whole thing, but this time I deleted the whole lb folder after uninstalling. Same issue.
My computer in my cabinet is old as fudge, so I reinstalled Windows 7 since I had a couple of issues with some other stuff to.
New installation ofvWindows 7 ultimate SP1 x64, drivers and everything that is required to get LB running. Same issue.
Uninstalled Lb again, but this time I installed 8.3. It seems to work at the moment, I'm adding some roms at the moment to see what happends when I boot Big box.
So could the answer to the 9.8 issues and maybe a couple of other of the latest versions be that it does not support Windows 7?
Sorry about the long post and terrible english ?
