  1. All platform specific startup images must be named as the platform in your set-up is named and placed in the \LaunchBox\Images\Custom Startup Images folder

    (Example: \LaunchBox\Images\Custom Startup Images\Arcade.png)

Note: The name must match how you have the platform named in LaunchBox.

  2. Thank you very much for your input.  Not exactly what I was looking for, but it got my close and going in the right direction and ultimately led to me figuring it out.  I am very new to xaml and this helped.  I was trying to set a static value for a string that would be part of another string which complicated the issue for me.  A few google searches I learned how to bind the static string you helped me create into string format that I needed.

    Thanks again!

  3. Custom Startup Image

    View File

This theme gives you the ability to specify the startup images you want per game or platform.  I created this as I wanted to display controller mapping for each game as it loads to go with the Game Control FS pause theme by  @Retro808 and did not see a startup theme that already existed for this.  It will display any image you have or create that is game or platform specific when the game loads.  It displays the LaunchBox default "Game Over" screen with a clear logo added when a game is exited.

All images must be placed in a specific folder structure and follow a standard LaunchBox naming convention to work with this theme.  Instruction are provided in the read me text file in the download.

The theme uses .png images by default but can easily be modified (1 edit) to use .jpg images.

  4. I have the Sega Model 2 emulator running full screen fine in LaunchBox and BigBox except for returning from a pause screen.  It will go to the pause screen fine, but when I return to the game the screen is completely black.  I can still hear the audio of the game but no video.  I am able to return to the pause screen fine, but never able to return to the game with video.  The monitor resolution is 1280x1024.  All of my MAME emulators work perfectly with pause.  Anyone have this issue or ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

  5. I closed LaunchBox, moved the file out of the folder and it created a new one. when it was relaunched.  I went to configure the pause button and it still had my old value of "W".  I changed it to "P" and launched a game.  It still just pauses the game without going to a pause screen.  Does it store these values somewhere else?  How did it remember the "W"?

  6. OK.  I set the "P" key to pause in LaucnhBox and the theme set to default.  When I press "P", the game just pauses, no menu.  I then set the pause key to "W" just to make sure there was not a conflict with the MAME pause key being "P".  When in the game and I press "W", nothing happens.  "P" will still pause the game, but that is the way MAME is configured to pause.  It is like LauchBox is not seeing the key press.

  7. I switched to the default Pause Theme and the same thing happens, juts the MAME game pauses with the game still on the screen.  This is another issue that apparently has nothing to do with your theme.  Any suggestions on what could cause this behavior?

  8. I could post a picture, but it is just an image of the running game paused.  I am using a controller and not a keyboard.  I mapped the pause screen under the controller mappings.  I did not map anything under the keyboard mapping.  I just tried the keyboard mapping and it does nothing with the controller buttons.

  9. This is exactly what I have been looking for, but I am not able to get it to function properly.  I have installed the theme under "PauseThemes" and then selected it for Launchbox and BigBox. I followed the naming convention for the image directories, but when I hit the Pause buttons, the game just pauses and the image does not appear.  I am only using MAME and the platform is listed as Arcade.  I have tried with the game name and the rom name.  The platform image does not come up either.  In BigBox, show Pause Screen is enabled.  I have tried this with JPG and PNG images making the appropriate changes for PNG in the XAML file.  What else could I be missing.

Thanks for any help and also thanks for the time you have contributed to this theme!

  10. I am trying to use the Cannonball emulator for Out Run.  I have setup a profile in Logitech gaming software that detects when the Cannonball emulator is launched and switches the steering wheel profile for that game.  Everything works fine when I launch the cannonball emulator directly, but when I laugh it from launchbox, the logitech profiler does not change. I am using a logitech g29 steering wheel on a Windows 7 pc.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Do I need to configure launchbox differently for an emulator that is specific to one rom set and does not need to specify it in the command line?

Thanks for any help or ideas.
