Go to settings > configure joysticks > advanced settings select the device and choose the number you want it to be and it should work. But I've found JTK to be buggy lately myself where it will just stop detecting controllers all together until I reboot even if I right click on the icon and hit detect joystick.

That’s what I said I do in my post. I have always specified the number for my guns/controllers and it always worked great. But today all of a sudden it won’t work. I even unassigned everything and just left one gun as #1 and it just reads as device 2 no matter what.

  2. Hi guys, anyone here have issues with Windows 10 and JoyToKey? I just upgraded from Windows 7 and noticed that the controller order feature of JoyToKey isn’t working correctly. For example, I have my player 1 Aimtrak gun set as joystick 1 in Joy2Key, yet it is acting as joystick 2. Not even in a game, but in Joy2Key itself. This never happened under Win 7, it was always rock solid. Gun 1 would always be joystick 1 and gun 2 would be joystick 2 as specified in the Joy2Key settings.

Prior to this issue, I also noticed that my Xbox controller would randomly light the player indicator LED as player 2, 3 or 4 even through I only had one controller connected. When this happens I reboot and it goes back to normal but again,  not something I ever experienced under Win 7. Anyone else have these issues?

The problem with nuvee is that gun buttons that are not linked to a mouse event are not reconized...
So when you want to link a button to reload it has to be from a right or a middle click (left is for fire). But I didn't configured my aimtrack guns that way (1P left button  is 4Joy1 and 2P left button is 3Joy3...).
In time crisis 2 and 3 (split screen), I need to change my aimtrack configuration and it breaks all my previous setups (demulshooter or mame for example)....

Yeah this sucks big time, same problem for me and using AHK remaps or other methods I have tried to send a keyboard key as a mouse click does not work. I believe it is because Nuvee captures the HID of the device being used and will only accept mouse clicks from that HID. If someone could write a program similar to Demulshooter where you can specify the HID of each gun or choose it from a drop down menu, and has fields for left/middle/right click that you can map to a keyboard key, it would solve the issue.

  4. Hey guys, anyone here use Aimtraks with PCSX2 for gun games? I can get them working with the Nuvee plug-in just fine, but assigning middle click to one of the buttons on the gun is a problem for me because I have many gun games for other systems configured and I don't normally assign middle click to one of the Aimtrak buttons. Is there a way I can assign the middle click function to a keyboard key? There are supposedly hard coded keyboard keys in Nuvee as shown in the attached pic for Start, Select, Buttons A and B, etc. but they don't work for me. I get no response when trying these keys. I have tried programs like JoyToKey, Xpadder and AHK remaps to forward a keyboard key to middle click but PCSX2 doesn't respond to any of these programs.

Although there were some differences in the graphics section between your ini file and mine, I was able to change my settings to match yours and continue to have no issues. I am leaning toward a video driver issue with your AMD card and AAE. This would not be surprising since AAE is so old.

I assume you have tried different video driver versions to see if any change the behavior?

I am using Nvidia and have the same issue however I was able to fix it through RocketLauncher by changing the Exit_Mode module setting to ProcessClose. Basically, if you exit out of AAE through task manager or through a batch script or similar, the issue won't happen. If you exit through AEE by pressing Esc, it happens. With this information anyone should be able to get it working even if they're not using RocketLauncher.

dragon57, did you test by launching and exiting AAE.exe directly through the Esc key?

Very strange. I have AAE installed and configured here on both my Windows 10 machines (updated to the latest 2004 build) and don't have any problem exiting and not having the resolution go back to what it should. Perhaps someone with the problem show their AAE.ini file and I can see if I see any obvious difference which may contribute.

Also, I am running Nvidia cards on both my machines. What video cards are in the machines with problems?

    Do you use RocketLauncher?

In general terms, I think too many users try to maintain a full MAME set, when a smaller subset is usually enough. Once you have pruned your set down, it's really easy to maintain and update with ClrMamePro. (Though you'll find the most popular roms don't often change much, if at all.)

I'm a big fan of the Bezel Project bezels as well, but you have to be careful as they will overwrite some of the regular MAME artwork that have advanced features like color overlays, lighted bezel elements based on game elements etc.

Hey, which regular MAME bezels are you referring to? Got a link?

ok! Got it working!!!!Had to download a clean version of m2emulator 1.1a and follow your steps for demulshooter.  It is super important, like you said, to CALIBRATE THE GUNS! Only remaining problem is the missile button on behind enemy lines.  I can fire the gun, but how do I set the missile button?

Thanks a million once again MadPossum...  Seriously....  Thanks for all the help bro.  Gonna try a few different games now and see if I can figure out the missile thing.

You ever get BEL working? Can’t get the missile to fire.

The difference between DAT files and importing binary is with DAT files certain options are locked in so you can't mess up.

It sounds like this buddy just joins in full sets which means then it's a bit pointless to even audit them as the posted sets are 100% correct. Exactly the point I was making here with my previous post on this thread.

Basically these days only the torrent uploader needs to worry about auditing. The rest of us have it easy where they can just join in and clean up later ;)

So downloading the new set over the current set and running TorrentCheck is a safe and accurate way to do it? I know that when he runs clrmamepro after downloading the new set over the current one it usually finds and fixes errors. I guess TorrentCheck would essentially do the same?

  10. Thanks for the tutorial. I haven't followed it yet but it looks promising. Question, I usually have a buddy update my MAME set with clrmamepro and he always use .dat files yet I don't see that mentioned in the tutorial at all. He also doesn't download every mame update pack, instead he just places the roms and chd's in their own directory and points the torrent client to those directories so that only the updated files are downloaded. Is this just a different approach? The clrmamepro results are correct afterwards with this method.

yeah usually when they update the emulator they update to the latest MAME ROMs lets just hope they don't go another 14 months until they update again like they did last time as using updated ROMs was starting to cause issue.

Ok got it, thanks again. In that case, it does seem beneficial to extract the roms into dedicated directories for Naomi/Atomiswave and not rely on the MAME roms directory.

The last Demul build is from 11/11/2017 (if they haven't snuck one by me) and it is updated to support the MAME build from October I think it would be 0.191 I don't know how much the ROMs have changed prior to those updates or since so its hard to say with certainty which ROMs from which sets will of won't work. Getting the latest set will probably not cause any issues but don't hold me to that.

Got it. Are the details about which set is compatible with each Demul release available anywhere or it just goes by whatever MAME version is out at the time of the release?

While you can simply add your MAME path to Demul that doesn't really help you get the ROMs setup in LB/BB especially if you want them to be separated into their own platform. If you run the tools you will get a folder for the specific platform which is then easy to import into LB at that point you could actually go into LB and change their path to your MAME folder and delete the ROMs in the folder but without initially separating them how would you import them. The fact that these games don't work in MAME will also exclude them from being imported with a normal MAME import so these same games will not be listed in your arcade platform unless you import broken and non working games also which is something I wouldn't be interested in doing personally.

Thank you, I understand now. What is the relation between MAME and Demul versions now? Are certain MAME sets required based on the version of Demul?

@Imortus.san that is because they changed a lot of the ROMs at the time to match the changes that MAME had made to the ROMs

This here will pull the games out of a current MAME set the only real issue is if you have a MAME split set the DC.zip file won't work unless it is merged together with all of the other files that go with it now. MAME recently split the DC bios into separate files and Demul doesn't know how to handle it yet a non-merged set or even a merged copy of this file would eliminate that issue though

I don't understand the purpose of this tool. Can't you just add your MAME roms directory to the paths in Demul? I've been using Demul 0.5.82 for a long time and decided to upgrade to the latest version and I was getting errors with all of my roms. I figured they had changed something so I added the path of my MAME roms to Demul and that seems to work. I only tested one or two games though.

Does anyone know if there is any advantage to upgrading? I'm going to check out Dolphin Blue tomorrow to see if that has been fixed. The sound in that game stops working at some point. I can't remember if it's halfway through the first level or during the second level.
