I'm having the same issue with LB and Mame on my Odin Pro (first gen).
I originally had a 2003+ ROMSET that works on everything I have, including the Odin Pro using Daijishou. When I switched to LB though, I was just getting black screens as others are, no matter what combination of RA / Core I used. So I decided to try the latest MAME ROMSET, 0.261 which I suspect would be the set required by the MAME core in RA now? Am I correct in that assumption? I grabbed the 130+gb un-merged set from the Pleasesuredome Github page and tried that. I'm getting EXACTLY the same issue though, ROMs won't load when launching through LB but will if I launch them directly in RA.Things I've tried
- All versions of RA - Retroarch : Retroarch (Sideloaded 64 and 32)
- Different ROMSETS - 2003+ : 0.261 (merged and un-merged)
- All arcade cores - MAME and FBNeo
I'm going to put Daijishou back on and see if that will launch them directly or not. If not, then I know it's still a RA issue and I'll try clearing the cache (don't want to do that until I have to in case it knackers up my other systems in LB).
Will report back when I get that done. -
Just came here to post about this.
I have RA and the cores setup and working right (Mame2003_plus) perfectly with Daijisho launcher on my Odin Pro. However, with LB, it finds and scraps the games correctly (from what I can tell) but when running a game, I just get a black screen and nothing else. I've tried different cores, and even different emulators just in case it's that, but I can't get any of them to work. My ROM set is the 2003+ set and works everywhere else, on my PC and other handhelds (MiyooMini+, RGB30), all through RA and even, as I mentioned on my Odin Pro with Daijisho but not with LB for some reason. All other systems works perfectly, it's just MAME that's having the issue. All cores are installed and work manually through RA too, the issue with when launching them through LB.
Is there a particular ROM set that works with RA Android or should any? Would anyone recommend a different set anyway?
Thanks in advance. -
Hi, I've just purchased a license for the Android version of LB but when I click the link to download it (the app, not the license) it just says "error" and nothing happens, no link is sent to my email. Is this my end or yours?
Thanks -
lol, you're right, for some reason I was in LB and thought I was in LB.NEXT. Not to worry, sure it's on it's way.

Notice it does work now. THANKS!

It looks like you've added the spacing code to this beta? That was the only thing stopping me using .NEXT, now it's perfect. The performance during caching is a lot better now too. GJ!

When you have a lot of games in the section (say the SNES for example) the UI becomes almost totally unresponsive while it caches the images. Once done though and you switch back, it's a lot quicker, but just saying the first time isn't great. Maybe it needs to use less resources to do the caching so you can still use the UI while it's doing it's thing.

Hi. I don't know if this has even been implemented into LB.Next yet or not, but when I set the number of text lines to show in the Spacing section of the Theme options to 2, it still shows more than 2 lines anyway. Not a major issue but I like to set the number of lines to 2 to keep things tidy in the game list as more than 2 lines and LB starts to shrink the image of the game to compensate for the extra lines.
Loving LB.Next BTW, so much more responsive that the normal LB. Keep up the good work!

This is amazing.
RA's MAME cores just weren't working with 0.261 (unmerged) for some reason so I was using FBA_Neo which ran a lot of the ROMs but not all. This core runs those that FBA wasn't. Thanks for this!
