Even though almost all of the cores are in Retroarch (if not all), the PS1 core in the standalone Mednafen supports mouse, guncon and justifier and hopefully it'll be added to the retroarch core but in the meantime it works great! I do recommend a front end - Mednafenfe makes it REALLY easy to setup. I do suggest changing the controls in the emulator when running. To do so press ALT + SHIFT + [n] Configure buttons for emulated device on input port n(1-8). To change input device, just press CTRL instead of ALT.
