Trackball not working in Roms

Hey everyone. Just got an xtension arcade cabinet, emulator edition, from recroommasters. Have pretty much everything running great, except cannot get my trackball to work in the games.  It works on windows and within LaunchBox but not games. I set the .ini file in mame to have a 1 for the mouse like a few tutorials directed. Hoping someone has some advice bc I am struggling.com. One other thing I am using retroarch instead of mame. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

I had the same problem, move the ini to the mame\ini\presets\ directory or whereever the ini  ini is set to in mame.ini. Mine was set to mame\ini\presets

Thanks for the feedback. I mapped my ini file correctly in mame and it's still not working. Have no idea why not. I feel like it should be working.

try setting trackball_device to mouse in the ini
