jasondesante
I am wondering if there is any way to make sure the edited videos never get downloaded. Good for whoever made them, but the video plays in a box and then the edited ones are all silly where they have other audio that isn't in the game, and these graphics and stuff...and the gameplay is in a box, so it looks incredibly bad when actually being used in bigbox, and doesn't help give a preview of the game at all. When I saw the video for super mario galaxy was some edited video, I noticed something was up. It looked like a box in a box. It doesn't look good at all. I can't put into words how bad of an idea I think these edited game videos are, and how bad they look. They definitely shouldn't be the default option. I would much rather have only gameplay videos as the previews, because of obvious reasons. I don't know why this is bothering me so much, but the edited videos really are a huge negative in my opinion. I really want to figure out how to find which games have edited videos and remove all of them. Does anyone else feel the same way or has this already been discussed? Thanks! I like the edited platform videos depending on how they're made, it would be great for Launchbox to distinguish the different videos instead of replacing so I can know what source I got it from (emumovies, launchbox etc). It's fine to have stuff that I don't want part of my experience as long as it's easy to find it and switch it out for something else, but right now it's difficult. CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT
I'm assuming you are referring to the Game Theme Videos when you are referring to "edited videos". When you are importing media, just make sure you aren't keeping the box for Video - Theme selected (see screenshot; it's the bottom option). If you uncheck this box, it won't download theme videos for games that have them from EmuMovies.
jasondesante
Thanks for the help dude! I got everything sorted out, the theme videos are helpfully sorted in their own folder too, so it wasn't difficult at all! And in the most recent video on the Launchbox channel Jason was talking about the new playlists feature...which I love the idea of it! Now there's a perfect purpose for edited videos, and I would love to see them used there.
