Lenny
Hello all! Is it possible to hide games in launchbox/bigbox? The reason i would like to do this is to hide clones and unwanted games for my mame setup. I saw a delete button button but wasn't sure if it hid or delete the game from my collection. Thanks for your help! Lenny
SentaiBrad
So when you imported your MAME games, it should have been through the MAME Importer and it should only import games based on your preferences. So if there is a bunch of games that were imported and you didn't go through that, you should go through that importer first. I say that because if it's a lot of games then chances are a proper import might be more helpful. Otherwise, if you Right Click -> Edit a game, there are some check boxes on the right hand side in the middle, and one of them is hide. Check that box and press ok. If you delete a game instead it will just remove it from your library. If you check the box in the options to delete the rom files, a second dialogue will pop up after confirming you want to remove the entry and asking if you'd like to delete the file too. So keep that in mind, you can enable that option but not delete the files, but have it available if you do want to clean up your roms. Lenny
I did use the mame importer but the issue i have is that it didn't seem to import the games to my preference. For example if I prioritize north america version and no close i'll end up with with puck man instead of pac-man and salamander instead of life force. Am i doing something wrong? Also is there a particular mame version that launchbox favors? Thanks Again!
SentaiBrad
I used MAME .183 non-merged and it worked just fine. You do need a split or non-merged rom set, merged will not work.

Lenny
Brad, I wanted to give an update it seems no matter how i imported mame roms i would be missing games ie. Q-bert , pac-man and others so i noticed the setting " combine ROM's with matching titles into a single game" when i imported with that box checked it came out perfect! This option is awesome! Its perfect for importing multiple revisions of games while keeping a clean look! You guys think of everything! Thanks for all your hard work!
