Launchbox + Rocketlauncher + Steam

Hello all.

FIrst post and, sorry if this was posted someplace, but I searched and couldn't find it.

I am having issues with getting Launchbox to point to Rocketlauncher to launch my steam games.  Simply put...I was interested in Rocketlauncher since it had a simpler way to configure a POST EXIT application to run.  So...I successfully followed the steps to add my Steam games in LB...then I followed the process to add the PC Launcher in RocketLauncher and configure the games.

I can get the Steam games to load from Launchbox...and I can get the Steam games to load from RocketLauncher...but I can't get Launchbox to point to Rocketlauncher to load the Steam game.  I have the POST EXIT application running in Rocketlauncher and, launching the steam game from there, successfully runs my post exit batch file.

If I attempt to tell Launchbox to use an emulator to run my steam games (and select Rocketlauncher as the emulator in Launchbox), running the Steam game from Launchbox gives off a "cannot find rom" error.

Can anyone help me?  Is what I am doing even possible?  I can find plenty of links, tutorials, and videos, showing how easy this is to do in Hyperspin...but I am really trying to avoid starting from scratch in Hyperspin just to get this functionality.

Thanks in advance

Seems like an odd problem, I have never tried steam games but will have a look when I get home this afternoon.

When you audit a platform in rl does the list come up green, as in rl knows where your games are?

Also something I have never tried is anything to do with the check box in rl when setting up an emulator, "virtual emulator", I am guessing it has something to do with that. I think it effectively tells rl hat the file is an exe and does not need to be passed to an emulator.

I would setup a new emulator for the steam platform in rl and tick the virtual emulator box and see what happens.

Thanks massatomic

Setting up the emulator in RL with the Virtual checkbox on is the only way I know to launch the emulator - and it works when launching from RocketLauncher.  The issue is that I am trying to only run Launchbox from my arcade cabinet and I can't get it to point to the emulator and configiuration I have set up in RL.  When I set up the emulator in Launchbox to point to steam and load directly - it works...but then I lose the extra step to run a program on Exit.  I know there is an option to run a program after the program loads...but that has been unreliable and forces the need for experiment with scripts to try to get Launchbox to think the application has exited properly.

The best case scenario for me is to have Launchbox point to the working emulator and configuration for my Steam games in Rocketlauncher.  That is where i am stuck.

sorry I am still a little confused to tell the truth...

if its working in RL then there should be no reason that it is not working in LB.

I had a quick look now, I do bot have steam games setup in LB anyway...

RL uses the PClauncher.ahk module, you need to set up the steam ids in the steamids.ini file located with the module.

I am not coder so cant really help you on the editing of ahk scripts, I had a quick look but I feel that this would take me hours to work out.
