Disable starup video skipping

I am using Controller companion for volume control shortcuts on my computer (runs 24/7). Big box will launch on to my television screen, and sometimes it is too loud so I attempt to adjust the volume with the hotkeys set for my controller but it also ends up skipping the start up video. Is there an option somewhere to disable the skipping feature so I don't do this accidentally? Thanks.
