Need help with Retroarch Wii controls

Hey all, just wondering if anyone can help. I have my Nintendo Wii games running with RA's dolphin core and everything is working nicely, except for the controls. The problem is whilst I can program many of the controls in just fine RA's input menu for the Wii does not have button 1 or 2 on the standard sideways remote. The Wii remote that more so resembles a standard looking controller has buttons A, B, X and Y and those are all in RA's input menu. The thing is a lot of games need that button 1 and 2 to be programmed in. I know this might be able to be done by configuring the .cfg file manually but I do not really see buttons 1 and 2 for player 1 in there. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I know that the dolphin emulator may be better than RA's core but I am trying to get everything running through MAME and RA if I can, thanks.
