A better way to have a static background?

Is Platform Fan Backgrounds the only way to do this in Big Box?  It's very tedious copying the same file to every platform directory every time I want to have a different background.  Also I have to delete all my background fan art for the game list to show a static image.  Is there a better way for this yet?
