Help with how the "backups" work?

So in my haste  trying to accomplish something this morning, I added another folder/setofroms/platform, and didnt choose a default, so it merged all of them with the previous platform.

Fortunately launchbox has this awesome backup feature.   I deleted the current platform, and opened a backup and simply overwrote/drag-dropped them in.  After a restart, it seems that all of the roms in which I added/modified the label name due to misidentification/not-scraping, had reverted to their defaults so to speak.

Am I doing something incorrectly or is this a limitation?

ok, it sort of did.  It just doesnt back it up/refresh it properly.

It imported new boxart which overrode the custom boxart, or at least hid it.  Once i changed the label name back to what I had it before (assumed that would have been saved in the auto-backups)  it popped up.  At least some of it did.  aka for stuff that had no auto-imported artwork (in this case) boxart - back for example, in which I added some - once I changed the label name back to what I had modified it to previously, it popped up.  However the boxart front I added was nowhere to be found.   This seems due to only being able to show one boxart - front in the edit menu at a time.   I had to change the auto imported images designation, or delete it, then POOF the stuff I had in place before the "accident" showed up.

Essentially the same as me doing it all over again unfortunately.

wish we could have multiple boxart - front etc and just choose between them.     But, glad I discovered my mistake early.  Will have only cost me an hour or so to put things back how they were.

Just trying to figure out the inner workings and what applies to what for future to avoid QQ posts such as the aforementioned :P cause lord knows with the volume of platforms and media ill be working with - accidents are gonna happen again.
