Controller Mapping Issues With X-Gaming Tankstick

Thanks in advance for any help - 

I have an X-Gaming Tankstick that I've upgraded to Tri-mode which means it looks like 2 xbox controllers to the computer rather than just a keyboard/mouse combo. I'm trying to get the Exit Game controller mapping to work, but when I do a combination of buttons, any buttons, it only logs the first one pushed. Any ideas why this might be the case?
