Controller Configuration

Hey there, not sure if this should go here or troubleshooting.  Since I am a "noob" figured I would try here first.  I just downloaded Launchbox this weekend to a USB flash drive to use on my Atari VCS.  When loading up Big Box the Atari VCS modern controller works in the interface.  When starting a game the controller does not work and I get the message seen in the image.  "Game controller (12880/4096) not configured"

I loaded up Atari 2600, Atari 7800 and Turbografx 16 games and the controller works with neither.  I am assuming I need to go into Retroarch to configure the controllers but in all of the tutorial videos I have not found any that show how to do this.  Also, after I figure out how to do this can a controller be configured per system, or am I going to have to configure it for each game?

You can remap controls per system, per folder or per game.

Thanks!  This will be helpful.  I believe I found a good video on YT as well.  I was in the right area last night when trying to figure it out.  I'll give it another shot tonight.
