Launchbox taking forever to "clear(ing) image caches" when retrieving new metadata/media

Hi all, as above -

Launchbox is taking an awful lot of time to do a simple clearing of the image cache before it downloads new metadata and media.  Is there any way to tell it to skip that step when grabbing new metadata and media?  Because the progress bar is just moving infinitely in a circle and I don't have the patience to wait many hours for it to get through this step.

Edit: it crashes with the following error message:

Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. (Parameter 'index')
