LaunchBox Android + MAME Software Lists

So after some tinkering I finally got MAME Software List systems working on my Android device (Anbernic RG505).
Hooray for the Gamate, the Hartung Game Master et al.!! :-)

Unfortunately there does not seem to be a way to launch these systems from within LaunchBox Android.
Has anyone been able to integrate systems that do not have a dedicated Retroarch core?

It is my understanding that it is not possible to setup Retroarch as a custom emulator, so that is not an option either.

I tried manually editing the Platform .xml file. This will only lauch Retroarch, not the game. From within Retroarch you can launch your game via "load content" but after exiting Retroarch LaunchBox is stuck on the launching screen and I have to manually kill LaunchBox and restart LaunchBox.

Is this something only Jason could fix? Or has anyone found a way to do this?

Thanks for any info.

For those interested this is how you can play MAME Software List systems on your Android:

The important bit is that you need a specific RetroArch MAME core. The most current Retroach MAME core ("MAME current") has dropped Software List support because of Android system limitations.
"MAME current" will only work for the Arcade side of things, just like all those other ancient MAME cores that are built on very old MAME versions before the integration of MESS.

1) Place the bios zip in your RetroArch/system/mame/rom directory, for example RetroArch/system/mame/roms/gmaster.zip

2) Place the MAME SL game zips in a subfolder, for example RetroArch/system/mame/roms/gmaster/bublboy.zip

3) Create another subfolder within and extract the bios files, for example RetroArch/system/mame/roms/gmaster/gmaster/d78c11agf_e19.u1

4) Copy the corresponding hash file to RetroArch/system/mame/roms/hash

5) Launch RA, "Load Content" (in this example bublboy.zip), "Launch Content" with MAME core et voila

You can find 32bit and 64bit cores based on MAME 0.226 on this reddit post:

Of course you will have to manually install this core in Retroarch via "Load Core", "Install or Restore a Core"
