Hi,

I'm looking for a new 8TB HDD to replace the one I currently have. I've been using it for several years and lately it's been giving me some errors...

Can you recommend me a good 8-10TB HDD?
Thanks

I work with storage devices all day in a data recovery lab and have seen it all. There is no brand anyone could recommend for 8–10TB drives that is significantly more reliable than the next. If you want a good drive for large capacity, most Western Digital and Seagate drives will do the job. However, I've encountered more issues with 3.5" SATA drives from Seagate than Western Digital over the years, so I’m slightly biased toward Western Digital.

The rule I always recommend is to have a backup of your entire library of games and another backup of your OS drive.

For example: WD BLACK 8TB Gaming Internal Hard Drive HDD - 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 128 MB Cache, 3.5" - WD8002FZWX is designed for gaming and is reliable. Is it bulletproof, nothing is infallible.

Good luck, I hope that helps.
