Got a weird one and I am hoping someone can help out with here. I run big box by starting it through steam big picture. I do this so I can stream games around the house using the steam link app, and when I want some retro gaming, I just run big box. This has been working wonderfully for several years. However, sometime in the last few weeks, it stopped working. I have attached a video of what happens.

This video is actually right on the real machine... so no streaming... to prove that the problem is something to do with big picture mode and big box. The video picks up after big box has just finished loading. If you leave it in the menu here for just a few seconds, suddenly big picture sort of... reboots?... or something... and takes focus.

Big box isn't crashing. You can alt tab and get back to big box, but the behavior will just keep happening with big picture "starting up" and taking focus.

When I noticed this behavior, there hadn't been an update to lunchbox/big box in a little bit. So I suspect something changed on the steam/big picture side. To back that up further, if I simply start big box from steam, it works as expected. It is only when big picture is used to launch big box does the problem start.

That being said, every other game still works with no problem on steam, big picture, and streaming with the steam link app. So I'm bringing the issue here as it feels like it's something wrong on this end.

Anyone got an idea?

Thanks for posting this. I have exactly the same issue.

Since yesterday Steam Big Picture keeps restarting in the background while Big Box is running. Very annoying.

Hi,

I have same issue too.

I was wondering if it will be a problem with some videos running in big box or something like that...

I tried to make an update of steam but doesn't work...

I don't understand why this is happening so suddenly.
