bananagoo Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) Hello, A recent error started popping up this morning, and not sure what is causing it. After about a minute after starting up, Launchbox (v13.21 on Windows 11) will display the error message shown in the attached picture. My Launchbox folder is in C:\\Users\MyUserName. I'm not sure what Launchbox is looking for in C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsApps\Deleted. I assumed it had something to do with the Xbox storefront since the error occurs soon after the program scans for imports on startup, but even after disabling the "Enable Automatic Imports On Startup" option, the error still occurs. Clicking OK in the dialog box that pops up causes Launcbox to crash immediately. It also may be a coincidence, but this error started popping up after I got a notification this morning that one of my storefront credentials had expired, but that was for the Epic Game Store (of course). Any ideas? I have just gotten everything set up pretty much the way I want it, and this is the only hitch in the road I've come across so far. I would very much appreciate any assistance or ideas you all might have. Thanks!! Edited May 22 by bananagoo Quote
Solution bananagoo Posted May 22 Author Solution Posted May 22 (edited) OK, this was totally user error. Posting here in case someone else makes the same mistake I did. Last night I was setting up SCUMMVM to work in Launchbox. I had added the Space Quest 2 VGA fan remake to Launchbox, which was located in "C:\\ProgramFiles". Somehow importing this one game changed the SCUMMVM platform to start searching for games in "C:\\ProgramFiles" and when it hit the "WindowsApp" folder, it wasn't able to scan it since Windows 11 blocks permissions to that folder completely. Moving the offending game into the SCUMMVM folder in my Launchbox folder and resetting SCUMMVM to only scan for titles in my Launchbox folder fixed the issues. Whooops! skizzosjt Posted May 22 Posted May 22 importing through a wizard automatically changes the platform's "game" path to that directory.......it's a beyond annoying feature! Quote
bananagoo Posted May 22 Author Posted May 22 Good to know...😁 What threw me off was the "WindowsApp" folder that was showing up in the error. I immediately thought it was the Xbox app causing the issues... I figured it out when I went to play a SCUMMVM game and saw that Launchbox had imported a bunch of applications from the ProgramFiles folder. Then I remembered adding the Space Quest game last night... Quote
