Vlahka Posted June 8 Posted June 8 So I was wanting to scrape my collection but I've come to a slight issue. My original archive are adf files. Now I've decided these sorts of files are just super annoying when it comes to using a handheld and not my pc. So I wanted to go with an lha set. Problem is the no-intro set has all the names with some stupid versions at the end, like hiredguns.v.1.1.2 or what have you. So the scraping is doing nothing. Are there any collections out there that are lha and named properly? And if not is there a way to bulk convert an entire folder of adf files to lha. I figure in this futuristic age that should be simple, but I know reality isnt always nice to me. Thanks for the help. Quote
launchretrogirl2562 Posted June 8 Posted June 8 (edited) Launchbox latest versions should import those rom names correctly and leave out all things like .v.1.1.2 or others So your hiredguns.v.1.1.2 should import as hiredguns Or look at this post describing total commander, he uses as parameter _v* to remove that naming in the rom name Or my own test : Edited June 8 by launchretrogirl2562 Quote

I tested the program, highlighted the files as a test and did the .v* thing then start. The items in the menu vanished saying it was done. When I checked the games folder nothing had changed. Am I missing something obvious. Wait sorry noticed it was . instead of _v. Thatw roked but removed the extension of the file. Dont think that will matter. I'll play around. Thanks heaps for the help! 14 minutes ago, launchretrogirl2562 said: Edited June 8 by Vlahka Quote

Thanks heaps for the help! after you selected the file(s) u want to edit. entered your search for : .v* or _v* or anything u want to remove. u have to press start at the bottom of that screen for it to actually rename it. Before u start mass renaming, always make a backup before of your files. and the program shows u what it will change. So before u press start...u can sort of see what it will change. Just mass rename them. It will also remove your extensions. Select all your renamed files in total commander. Then just open the mass rename tool again. Enter the extension u want the files to have, for instance .adf and hit start. All your files have been cleaned and have an extension again. Edited June 8 by launchretrogirl2562 1 Quote
