Rock Hardcheese Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Hey guys. So, all my videos have been working fine on VLC. When I switch to WMP, my videos, which come from Steam Trailers for Steam Games, do not work. They still work for VLC though. What's odd is, other videos on my cab work on WMP, like arcade clips, and platform videos. It's just Steam videos that exclusively do not work. If I turn on VLC again, the Steam Videos work again. Any one have a solution, please? Thank you! Quote
launchretrogirl2562 Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) which format do these steam videos have? Like mkv, wmv, mpeg,...? sounds like you are missing some codecs. Did u install the K-lite codec pack when u installed Launchbox? Edited July 10 by launchretrogirl2562 1 Quote
Rock Hardcheese Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 They are webm files. Does that need K-lite? What is K-lite if I may ask? Quote
Solution launchretrogirl2562 Posted July 10 Solution Posted July 10 (edited) The K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and tools that enable Windows computers to play a wide variety of audio and video file formats. It's designed to provide a user-friendly way to ensure your system can handle virtually any media file you encounter. From the screenshot, u can see that VLC natively can play webm files, but if windows media player cannot...then you are missing the necessary codecs for it. Normally, when u update Launchbox, it will ask u if u want to install the K-Lite codec pack. https://codecguide.com/ Edited July 10 by launchretrogirl2562 1 Quote
