neosean99 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 To whom it may concern, I just updated Launchbox today as I saw a new update. I was hopeful this would fix several issues that have been plaguing the platform since around v13.23 (When screensaver, and when image packs were introduced). The performance seems better, I have not tested long enough to see if it stops randomly crashing in BigBox after closing a game or trying to exit the screensaver. I have been getting a periodic mouse input issue since v13.23, and all betas to follow. v13.25beta3 seemed the best of the group as it did not happen as frequent, but still happened sometimes. Now on this latest version, LB and BB both open a little faster, and seems a little more responsive. I opened BigBox to test, and was shocked to see all of my missing background screenshots. I refreshed image cache to be sure, and restarted. Still no background art. I have changed nothing. I will try another theme later to see if that's the issue, but it shouldn't be. v13.25 beta 3 was just fine on this matter, and now it is not. To be clear, I have been an almost everyday LB user for 6 or 7 years. I may not know everything, but I definitely know my way around this app. It's been my golden child up until these versions. I've also been a PC support tech, and hardware tech for almost 25 years. I know how to troubleshoot. I gotta say, I have a massive collection that I like to keep extra tidy with my own personal spin on here. I've made videos in the past of my builds, and have really enjoyed everything to the max. Like many I have hundreds of hours poured in, and thankfully it's easy to roll things back when things go wrong to a previous version. However, I had never been leery of updates on here until the versions I've mentioned. As a matter of fact, I welcomed them excitedly and was rarely disappointed. This last year or so with the latest updates I am at my wits end trying to fix things. Between the mentioned issues, the crashes, the not being able to click on things properly due to mouse lag (tested with 3 different systems / 3 different mice, all corded), some on forums disregarding like it isn't an issue, the baked in newer update plugins that notify me when I wish I could turn the feature off as I have always updated my stuff manually, and the image grouping feature that says "if you don't need, you may delete" which I found out is not entirely true if you were an existing user. It doesn't delete where you had those images originally, but if you delete the grouping all of your images for your platforms you already had all configured disappear, and it does not reach out to those old folders anymore so you have to either do it manually or rollback to v13.22, reinstall v13.23 and have it re-migrate the data. Not a huge deal, but with a new feature that was frustrating, and misleading. Bottom line, it sounds like I am being a Karen. I FEEL like I am being a Karen typing this. I know you guys all work hard, and the proof is in the pudding. This platform has been a godsend, and something I wished I had many years prior to it originating. I am just stating, there's been alot of issues that had never been present before. My LB/BB has almsot ALWAYS run flawlessly. I feel testing should have caught some of this stuff, especially since it used to be very rare to run into "true" issues once your setup was complete and the way you wanted it. I love this platform for the ease of use with the library, and for the moods when all you want to do is hit power, and have a controller in your hand. This really hasn't been so easy as of late. I am hoping that these issues slow down, and we get back to stable. I've reverted back to v13.22 and v13.23 (v13.22 has 0 random mouse input issue, but I really love that screensaver feature when idle on my cab rig!) so many times after testing newer builds and betas. I am just being honest. Reverting to v13.25beta3 as I've just had semi decent luck with it. *Attached are 2 screenshots. 1 with missing art on v13.25 full, and 1 with how it should be on v13.25beta3* From a long time Launchbox lover, Sean *Main rig* Windows 10, Intel i7 9700, 32gb DDR4, RTX2060, 2tb nvme, 4tb SSD Quote
