Would it be difficult to make the 3D cover box to cache into Cache-LB ?

Honestly, the feature is great and i really like it, but i can see the performance drop with and without showing on the side bar.
So i'm kind of wondering if that 3D cover box could be cached like the grid images. I mean just cache the image with the base position as a static picture (not animated) and load/activate the animated one on mouse over on it (or after a timer ?)
