Doxbox keeps crashing

I have used dosbox for decades to run a dos-based timekeeping program, so nothing complex in any way.  A couple of years ago, after working fine on my most recent computer, it suddenly started crashing frequently.  No error messages or anything; it just disappears.  It works fine for a while when I start it up again, then that happens again.  Now I've moved to another computer and it's happening still, possibly even more frequently.  Running win11, though I've been running it on things since win98 or so.  Any thoughts on what I can do to stop this?
