Nixx Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) https://github.com/nixxou/Litebox Ok, so basically, it's a shot at rewriting launchbox to get something that use less ram. Should be compatible with most plugins as i tried to replicate the lb api. Also it will play fine with my extenddb plugin with a deeper integration. Obviously, you will not be able to add games with Litebox and lot of features from launchbox are missing, but it's a work in progress. It should support basic game launch, store game launch support, retroachievement. Poster/Image cache is using a feature taken from my ExtendDB plugin, so if you want decent perf, you should install Everything https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/ Before use, click on the "Generate image cache" button is hightly advised. I had a simmilar project in the past called Quickbox, but it was a launchbox plugin, this time my idea was to do stuff from scratch. Just just try, one click, you select your launchbox executable and it launch. There is an uninstall.bat alongside to remove it. LiteBox-Setup-0.9.5.exe Edited Sunday at 02:02 PM by Nixx Quote
Nixx Posted July 5 Author Posted July 5 (edited) I've put a fair bit of work into LiteBox since 0.7.6, so here's a rundown of what's new and what got fixed. Now, there is only one installer that works for both 13.28 and 13.27. The big stuff You can now install emulators straight from LiteBox. Add an emulator, hit Download, and it grabs it and sets it up for you (RetroArch, Dolphin, PCSX2, MAME, ScummVM, BigPEmu, Xemu), same as LaunchBox does. RetroAchievements works now. LiteBox logs you in automatically when you start a game, so your achievements count while you play. There's a Game Saves page to back up and restore your saves, per game. Edit Game lets you change a game's info, notes and custom fields, with multi-select and a revert button. The whole interface got a big pass: proper 4K / high-DPI scaling, a zoomable game list, custom colours, and a one-click installer. Plenty of stability and display fixes on top, including one that could quietly lose your edits. Version by version 0.8.3 Fixed a case where the game list (or grid) went blank. If you scrolled down a platform with lots of games and then clicked one with fewer, you'd see nothing. That's sorted now, the games always show. 0.8.2 Fixed a bad one: if a file couldn't be saved, your edits could get dropped without any warning. They're kept and retried now, never lost. Steam achievements sometimes only showed the first one. The full list shows now. Cleaned up garbled characters (dashes, arrows) in the debug console. 0.8.1 Added installing emulators from LiteBox (see above). Added automatic RetroAchievements login when you launch a game. Fixed a bug that could mess up some emulators' launch command. Works with the latest LaunchBox (13.28) now, as well as 13.27. 0.8.0 Better game list: smarter column sizing, a zoom for the middle list (bigger rows on two lines), Ctrl+A to select all, and column widths that stick. Custom colours and a matching Edit Game window. Titles now sort ignoring a leading "The" or "A" by default. Fixed a crash in the game list. 0.7.9 Added the Game Saves page (back up and restore saves). Big interface rework with proper 4K / high-DPI scaling. Added a one-click installer: just double click to drop LiteBox into LaunchBox. 0.7.8 Fixed a crash on startup. 0.7.7 Added the Edit Game window: edit a game's info, notes and custom fields, with multi-select, changed fields highlighted, and a revert button. Opens quicker too. Added LEDBlinky support for arcade lighting. Edited Sunday at 01:56 PM by Nixx Quote

Nixx Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 (edited) Ok, v0.9.0 is done. Now it's much closer in term of features to vanilla launchbox. The one big thing missing is the wizard to import game, that will be my next focus to have achieve complete feature parity with launchbox. Edited Sunday at 01:57 PM by Nixx Quote
Nixx Posted August 23 Author Posted August 23 LiteBox 0.9.2. It's mostly about catching up with LaunchBox 14. The bulk of it is LB 14 parity: the Reader for documents, Links on games, the Additional Documents and Links menus, the group marker index that replaces the scrollbar in both the list and the image grid, and plugins loading from System\Plugins the way 14 lays them out. New Cassette Case 3D model support. 0.9.2 also reworks plugin loading, some that werent working before now works just fine like thirdscreen marquee. https://github.com/nixxou/Litebox/releases/tag/v0.9.2 Quote
Nixx Posted August 31 Author Posted August 31 (edited) I didn't had time to make the game import working that would bump my software to 1.0.0 But meanwhile, i made some utility modules. 0.9.3 : A Monitor Profile module, let you switch resolution and monitor setting, switch beetween them or link it to a game/emulator launch. A Launch Rule module, powerfull but tricky, let you alter the command line send to the emulator using rules. 0.9.4 : A fix to correct a mistake that prevent litebox to launch with other version than lb 14. Lot of works regarding game save to be on par with launchbox Experimental and probably bugged, a Romm server module that turn your launchbox into a romm server. Some limitation, each game only serve only one file. https://github.com/nixxou/Litebox/releases/tag/v0.9.4 Edited August 31 by Nixx Quote
Nixx Posted Sunday at 02:04 PM Author Posted Sunday at 02:04 PM (edited) Litebox v0.9.5 : Mostly a compatibility update, to keep up with LaunchBox 14.1 beta 3 and its new plugin API. LaunchBox 14.0.1 is now the minimum, the setup refuses older LaunchBox versions. Stores got a full rework. Options > Stores lets you choose, store by store and feature by feature, between LaunchBox's plugin and LiteBox's own code. Importing games is still missing. That is the big piece left on my side before I can start a v1 branch, and I will get to it when I find the motivation. New experimental PC Ports module. It looks up native ports, decompilations and recompilations of your games in three community catalogs, Quiver Launcher, Decomp Buddy and Ports Launcher. It checks that your copy of the game is the dump the port needs, installs it and adds it as a version of the game. If you have Claude Code or Codex, it can also let them do the install or the build for ports that need more work. Off by default. Saves can be exported and imported, and the new Save Sync module keeps them in sync between several LiteBox installs through a shared folder. You can also play in the browser with EmulatorJS, behind an optional HTTPS gate. The RomM server keeps moving forward but it is still experimental and not complete. https://github.com/nixxou/Litebox/releases/tag/v0.9.5 Edited Sunday at 04:05 PM by Nixx 1 Quote
