Is there a way to set LB to not constantly write stats like play time, game played, all other tracking stats that LB automatically writes to the system storage?  It can corrupt the internal storage flash memory if there is an error(very bad) and it does degrade flash memory since they have limited write cycles.   Internal storage is not replaceable. Internal flash errors can brick a device if bad enough. I know I will be told "well it will take a long time for these things to use up writes on flash memory".  Yes I know but these stats are useless to me, I couldn't care less how many times I launch a game or how long I play.  I would rather not have this doing it at all even if the chance of corruption is 1x10^-10.

No. You can’t turn it off. LaunchBox records play count, last-played date and play time on every game launch, and no setting stops that. The "Show Play Time Tracking Prompt" option only affects sessions longer than about 4 hours, and even then the stats are still saved.

The only way to keep those writes off internal storage is to put the LaunchBox data folder on an SD card:

  1. Close LaunchBox and copy the LaunchBox folder to the SD card with a file manager.
  2. Go to Settings → Options → Data Folder and choose the new location.

A small temporary file is still written to internal storage on each save, but the stats themselves end up on the card.

Couldn't a setting be added for "disable statistic writes"?  I have zero care for that useless info and degrading my system or card and the possibility of corruption every time I play a game shouldn't be mandatory.

Currently, it’s not possible to turn off play statistics in LaunchBox for Android. If you’d like to see an option for it in the app, please create a feature request here: https://feedback.launchbox-app.com/?b=679a6b991b2011c4928c2573. Other users can vote on it there, which helps us decide what to work on next. Until then, moving the LaunchBox data folder to an SD card, as described above, keeps those writes off your internal storage.

Ok but moving to external card degrades that and risks corruption of the card requiring me to set it all up again.  Not a great solution either.
