Platform fragmentation is leading to situations like the following:

Sega Rally Championship (Arcade)

Sega Rally Championship (Sega Model 2)

These entries currently exist in separate databases.

Furthermore, with the recent emergence of recompilations, decompilations, and ports, separate pages created by the respective authors are also appearing.

We need to urgently decide how to approach database creation moving forward.

Could the LaunchBox team please look into this matter?

(I am using Google Translate; apologies if the text is difficult to read.)

Recompilations are fan ports and should absolutely not be conflated with the official licensed versions of these games. The database information needs to reflect that. Nintendo had nothing to do with putting Twilight Princess on PC and to say otherwise is intellectually dishonest. They belong in windows because they are exe files.

As for the arcade stuff, it is really messy with how MAME imports are handled. I default to leaving them all in arcade and using playlists to organize them.

Wans Zai)
