Received a reminder today that following Jesus is not always easy or comfortable. The cost of following Christ is high, and contains no earthly rewards or security. Sometimes I am fooled into thinking that I am guaranteed earthly blessings by following the Lord; I am not. But the value of being Christ's disciple is higher than any benefits I could receive here on earth.

Living in the presence of Jesus, knowing He is with me, in bad or good, is better than any earthly reward. <3

Its even more prevalent in our society when many Christians are labeled as intolerant or prude but that is sometimes the stigma we have to bear in the name of Christ, but no matter what afflictions we go through as long as Christ is with us, who can stand against us! ;)
