  1. Thanks for the input. I think I’ll try the Platform Category approach first and see how that works. I think I’d prefer that to a separate instance of Launchbox.
  2. I’ve used Launchbox/Bigbox for a number of years now. One thing that I’d like to do is have a playlist / list of games that are a subset of my collection be the only games available when I have family over or the kids have friends over (something other than favorites). By default I have too many games across platforms and the choices can be overwhelming. I’d like to be able to identify a subset of the games that I’ve tested and configured and make them available and basically hide the rest when need be. Then be able to effectively open it back up when I’m done. In BigBox, I can set a pin to prevent people from accidentally changing options, etc, but I don’t think this affects what playlists are available/hidden. Does this type of feature exist or what might be the easiest way to accomplish it? I can do something similar with favorites or manually add games to a separate playlist, but it doesn’t hide the other playlists. I also thought about manually moving playlists to a different folder so BigBox doesn’t see them, but to be able to do it via the front end would be great.
  3. I've rebuilt my PC, which had Launchbox on it (12.16) and ported it over to my new PC. I also changed wheels from a Logitch G923 to a Thrustmaster T300RS. As a result, I needed to update the button mappings in Launchbox and BigBox. When I go to Tools-> Options -> Controllers... Launchbox sees my Thrustmaster, but when I try to actually map/remap buttons, it doesn't register the presses. This is the same thing in BigBox. I was able to find the XML in InputBindings.xml and manually change the buttons, and this appears to work fine in BigBox now, but in Launchbox, pressing the 'X' on the wheel moves the focus to the next game, so the mapping appears to be off. In either case, I can't map it via either front end now. But Launchbox is seeing inputs, since my old mappings register presses assuming the Logitech wheel and Thrustmaster inputs were the same (Dpad Up, Down, Left, Right is the same in both).. but when remapping, Launchbox does not recognize it... but when moving around Launchbox / BigBox, Up, Down, Left, Right moves the focus as you would expect.
  4. Thanks all. I manually added it and Wing War to my collection.
  5. I am trying to import a split MAME .217 into Launchbox as a full ROMset. I previously had .213. I updated MAME itself, and tried to import .217 as a separate platform, which was successful, but I have exactly the same ROMS as I had in .213 (2817), and I know things like Star Wars arcade was updated to working now. What did I do wrong?
  6. I'm in the process of building a full launchbox arcade cab using a recent PC build I put together. Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, 16 GB DDR 4 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1660ti. Currently, this is all running on a bar top I built, but I want to transition it to a full size arcade cab over the upcoming holidays, and simply return my bartop to running a PI 3b+. I need to put a new 32" monitor in the new cabinet and am trying to figure out if there will be any significant advantage of using a 144hz vs a 75hz monitor. The 2 displays I am considering at the moment are LG 32GK650F (144hz) and LG 32QK500-W (75hz). Both support FreeSync or Adaptive Refresh Rates, which I've confirmed will work with my Nvidia setup. The LG 32GK650F supports Freesync from 48hz-144hz and the LG32QK500-W supports Freesync from 48hz-75hz. I want to emulate a number of MAME games up through a few select PS3 games. I don't expect to play many modern PC games on this machine, except for 1-2 racing games or fighters. Given most of what I expect to emulate and use this for runs natively in the range of 50-75hz, will I see any benefit of a 144hz monitor? Resolution wise, both monitors are 2560x1440. The other two factors, and I don't know how important they will be, is that the 144hz panel is a VA panel and the 75hz is IPS. Also, the 144hz panel has horizontal inputs, meaning I will have to mod the mount in the cabinet to be able to mount the monitor onto the cabinet and connect the input cables and power (will be otherwise blocked by the wood mount of the cabinet). On the 75hz model, the inputs are vertical, meaning they plug in from underneath the monitor, and this wouldn't be an issue. The other consideration, is that I need the monitor to be flat, not curved, so that it fits in the arcade cab. Interested in any thoughts or suggestions. I haven't been able to find exactly what I was looking for... which is a 32" 144hz Freesync flat monitor, IPS panel, 2560x1440 resolution, with vertical inputs on the back. The 75hz model covers most of what I'm looking for, with the exception of it's not 144hz. The 144hz model I found isn't an IPS panel and doesn't have the ideal placement of the inputs. Will I see any benefit if I use a 144hz monitor for my setup?
