  1. I just had the same problem but maybe I can make it work with having the games in the SD card. I will try that method you mentioned at the end.

edit: I tried that. It can't find the ROM. I thought maybe if the game was unzipped it would work. I unzipped it. It didn't work.

edit#2: it worked with the zipped game. it didn't work previously because the folder name was wrong.

  2. LordMonkus' script worked for me. I removed the middle part though as Citra now has an option to hide mouse cursor on inactivity in its settings. I'm using the up-to-date build of Citra and LB at the time of this post.

Bruh... No one told me I had to copy the Esc script to the Running tab. I always copied it to Exit ahk script tab. Is it how it's usually done? Are you supposed to copy all the scripts to the Running tab?

It worked after copying it to the Running AHK Script tab, btw.

  4. Didn't work. I'm thinking maybe Desmume is blocking ESC key or something. It's weird because the fullscreen script Freestate wrote above works but none of the exit scripts do.

  5. I know when LB is searching for metadata on a ROM file, it tries to fetch data from Wikipedia. Is this linked to the WikipediaURL area in the database? Otherwise, I don't see any harm in accepting links to steamdb.info, wikia and even steam itself since lots of information can be found on there in the case of PC games. What do you reckon? I saw a deletion of a non-wikipedia link in the moderation today. It was a link to game's own wikia page. Are these detrimental to how LB works?

  6. It is possible this could stunt the database growth too since right now whatever image found is put in there. Not everyone would be privy to using an image editing software to resize pictures. I wonder if we could fetch images from steamgriddb website similar to emumovies. The website doesn't require login to download covers, only to upload.

  7. I was updating my Steam beta grid custom covers through steamgriddbdotcom and I noticed they have categories and rules for each category. For example the covers I'm using are shaped like vertical box arts and they have to be 600x900 png images. The category is "Alternate". Otherwise you can't upload them. I actually didn't try to load an image with different file type or resolution but should we have some standards for the images in the database? At least for the cover arts that appear in our Launchbox library? What do you think?

  8. My personal opinion is that it wouldn't hurt them to have them on the database. I don't have them and I don't use them but there might be people looking them up or launching them through Launchbox. I saw the deletion requests last night too and I just skipped them cos I couldn't decide me being a new mod as well.

What's the policy on angled front cart images? Do we reject them and request ones taken straight from the front or just accept them? Also, what about the front cart pics that are too dark because lighting wasn't proper? Do we have any standards?

  9. This isn't directly related but I was having trouble running a 32x game with Picodrive core in Retroarch through Launchbox a minute ago. I tried many things but it kept giving a black screen. I opened it directly with RA and it said Failed to load content. I tried the rom with Fusion and Gens+ emulators. Both worked, so it wasn't a faulty rom. I even tried another rom. Then, ran a command window with Retroarch to see the error messages if any by enabling verbose logging. Part of the log file is below:

[libretro ERROR] Failed to detect ROM/CD image type.
[INFO] Removing temporary content file: D:\isjusgam\Sega gens emulat├Âr\32x\WWF WrestleMania - The Arcade Game (USA).32x.
    [ERROR] Failed to load content.

I asked at the RA discord. One person asked if there was a special character in the directory name. I changed "ö" in emulatör to "o" and it worked. I couldn't believe it. Turns out RA doesn't like special characters even if it appears in a directory name hence it appears as "emulat├Âr" in the log.
