genkk - sorry for the delay. So I ended up actually ditching Retroarch completely, I had nothing but issues with it and although the concept is great it was not worth the frustration. I now run MAME itself (I can find the exact version if you like) and just plug in global controls in MAME and maybe tweak individual games where needed. 100% easier and works every single time. Yes you would need to manage controls for each emulator - and tedious if you have a ton of emulators, but since 98% of what I play is in MAME it's not a big deal. Also you are just setting up controls 1 time so still better in long run (instead of Retroarch). Anyway - wish I had better news for your Retroarch issue, good luck!

@jhordi08 From what I remember I never got it working, I think I gave up and just played supermodel. I did tons of searching but never found a way to get it working. If you find something please let us know!

Hi, so I ended up getting these for 40 dollars on Amazon. They actually work PERFECTLY. They simply assign a keyboard key to each pedal, then you use that to map in Mame. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07553KW32/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&fpw=alm They seem to work with most games and although do not have the "soft" touch of other solutions , meaning, they are either on or off, they are super cheap and enough for games that don't have "pressure" requirements. I combined this with a spinner from Ultimarc with their steering wheel and it's enough to play around with a lot of old school driving games. Let me know if you end up going that route and how it works?

Just noticed one more thing - tried to play with Input Interface under Options, not sure this means anything? (BTW I am using Ultimarc iPAC connected to Joysticks and buttons, a standard setup. So I went into: "Quick Menu -> Options -> Input Interface" If I set to Keyboard, nothing works including my actual keyboard (no TAB in Mame, etc.) If I set to Retropad, nothing works If I set to Simultaneous, then joysticks / buttons work like normal but again mapping is off.

Hi, So I have Launchbox running with RA on Windows 10, ver 1.8.4, works fine for the most part but I am noticing that Mame 2003 plus is not picking up my input mapping. I have everything for Player 1 and 2 setup in RA under "Settings - Input". I also confirm the input settings look fine when launching a game and going into "Quick Menu - Controls" But when I press TAB in Mame, go to "Input (General)" it does not match up. I thought RA was supposed to 'hand' Mame-2003-plus all the controls, so I don't have to set anything in Mame itself? A good example, for Player 2 Up/Down/Left/Right in the Mame "Input (General)" it lists 'r f d g' for up/down/left/right. I never set that anywhere I know of, it almost seems it is using keyboard controls now for this core for player 2. I have tried to delete nvram files under saves, cfg files, core overrides, been honestly working on it for 3+ hours and I am SURE there is something easy I am missing. OH - and I have tried under RA "Quick Menu -> Options" once in a game to set "Legacy Remapping" to OFF vs ON. Does nothing. Would appreciate any help, even if it means having to set Mame -> TAB -> Input area for all controls, but again I thought that was the big reason to use RA so you don't have to do that. Thank you!

Thank you for the help! that is exactly what I am doing (just grabbing individual files not using full romset). But your info pointed me to namcoc68.zip, i was looking for c68.bin which was not correct. I found the files here at Internet Archive and it is working! link removed - please don't link to copyrighted content Thank you so much for the quick reply. I have the Ultimarc Aimtrak gun and trying to get the best lightgun games working. Had to use standalone MAME (instead of Retroarch), seems to be only way to get Aimtrak working properly. Thanks again!

Searched forum and did not see mention of these anywhere, also, unbelievably, Google does not show anything on c68.bin but trying to run Lucky & Wild (from latest MAME not Launchbox yet, just testing), it says I need c68.bin Does anyone have Lucky & Wild working? does anyone know where i can find c68.bin, is this a BIOS? thank you!

Sega Model 3 / Supermodel works great with a mouse, easy to edit INI file and configure. BUT - Model 2 (Nebula) Emulator has no option that I can see, has anyone every been able to get a spinner mouse (Ultimarc) type device to work with Model 2? I open Daytona USA, then Game-Configure Controls, But under Steering, whether I check the box for Analog or not, it just defaults to "2 axis 8 button gamepad" and shows nothing else I just want the mouse X Axis to be what is used Stinks that they don't use an .ini file like Supermodel (Sega Model 3), I have played with the ini file in Model 2 folder, but that is just global settings like XInput and which mouse to assign to which player (if more than 1) But that does not seem to change anything Thanks for any help!

I just figured it out, for those wanting to do this, it's in ThumbnailListView.xaml file, just open that and insert this Setter Property with MaxWidth in bold below, can also do max height if you want, but max width around 200 to 300 is perfect. <Style x:Key="ThumbnailListBoxItemStyle" TargetType="ListBoxItem"> <Setter Property="FocusVisualStyle" Value="{x:Null}" /> <Setter Property="MaxWidth" Value="300" />

I know this is from ~3 years ago, but is there an easy way to shrink images in Big Box custom themes? What is the code to adjust the "Max Size" of the PNG Clear logos that are used? would be great to use a "max-width="100px" or something like that. Any ideas? Been searching and cannot find Thank you!

I have been searching for pedals to use with MAME driving games, having no luck. Pedals that are stand alone not with steering wheel (I have a Utlimarc spinner + wheel). Using Windows 10 + Retroarch but can use standalone MAME if needed. Would need to be USB connected is my guess, but I also have i-Pac2 just not sure those allow force feedback type pedals. Found these on Amazon, might just purchase and see, but guessing someone else has done this in the past? Thanks for any thoughts Found these: https://www.amazon.com/CH-Products-Pedals-Simulator-300-111/dp/B0000512IE https://www.amazon.com/ThrustMaster-2960764-Thrustmaster-TFRP-Rudder/dp/B015PII6YI/ref=pd_sbs_147_img_0/130-9798706-1601549?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B015PII6YI&pd_rd_r=b03e2872-c6af-437b-9912-76bac9c1986f&pd_rd_w=OLLSu&pd_rd_wg=bLW42&pf_rd_p=5cfcfe89-300f-47d2-b1ad-a4e27203a02a&pf_rd_r=2ARXTNEDC510YP87YTH2&psc=1&refRID=2ARXTNEDC510YP87YTH2

Hi, I am having no luck on this issue, hoping someone has gone through this. I am trying to use Retroarch with MAME but I am very close to doing MAME stand alone, it does not seem to work well with spinners and trackballs when it comes to sensitivity etc. For example - there is no way I can see through RA to say "hey I would like my default spinner key/joy speed to be 5 for all games" (That is a setting in MAME Analog Options via MAME menu) SO, to achieve this I need to create cfg files for each game, which is fine, i dont have a huge collection. It seems to do this you open the game, then MAME menu, edit, then "Save Game-options file" from RA Quick Menu. I can do that once, then duplicate .opt file for that game across other games. BUT, is that the only way? At this point I might just use standalone MAME for racing / spinner / trackball games, just seems to be a pain to deal with RA when it comes to Spinner/Trackball fine tuning. for the config files, found these folders with MAME config files, and then the game config files. But updating settings in Mame menu does not update cfg file, you must create the Game-Options file (I think) LaunchBox\Emulators\RetroArch\config LaunchBox\Emulators\RetroArch\config\MAME 2003-plus Thanks for any thoughts!

Yes for sure, I did hit a snag though, because the way COLORFUL lays out Platform Wheel, if you joystick over to Favorites, you cannot go down to press the A button to launch that platform. So you can launch a favorite but not sure how to get between favs and A launch without switching to another platform. I am going to play with it more. I was messing around last night with Default, and using white background with Platform Wheel 1 on that, stripping away the top right content, and just leaving favs and recents rows, with the bg video from COLORFUL for that platform, did not look half bad, but the favs/recent boxes cover the video too much. Anyway, will keep playing and share some stuff for sure!

I figured this out in case anyone is interested in adding favorites / recent to COLORFUL Platform view. I had to remove the animation for the text area under title since I removed the code snippet that shows the text (NOTE BLOC TEXT). Under this section, just remove the code there with animation. <!-- ANIMATION - NOTE BLOC TEXT - FADE IN + UP SLIDE --> Here is what ended up working , although still work in progress, sizing of the images etc. still needs to be played with. I can post the final code once I am done. <transitions:TransitionPresenter Grid.Column="1" Grid.ColumnSpan="4" Grid.Row="3" Grid.RowSpan="2" TransitionSelector="{Binding TopBoxesTransitionSelector}" Content="{Binding TopBoxesView}"/>
