I can’t for the life of me get the controls for Food Fight working properly with MAME. I have a Recroom Masters arcade stick and just can’t get a working control setup for it. I know the original Food Fight machine used a special stick with multiple movement options. I was hoping to set the controls up similar to Robotron as a quick fix using both joysticks but can’t figure out how. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I just assume without a separate specialty stick that it’s a lost cause with my particular setup? Thanks!

Yes I put Logitech Z313's in it - not so much because I wanted a sub - which I didn't - however the 313's have the little wired control pod thingy for volume level which I DID want. So it sits next to my keyboard in the drawer until I figure out a better / more accessible spot for it. Do you yourself a favor and get some black felt from Michael's or someplace similar ahead of time to lay over the speaker ports up top (on the inside) - otherwise you can see the light shining through the grilles (yes even through the wire mesh ones that I installed). Also - I plan to get a small LED strip light for inside my marquee box as the included light is kind of weak and only 18" wide so the ends of the marquee are darker than the center. Will probably order one from InspiredLED.com - I did under cabinet lighting throughout our kitchen with them and they are super nice and and a really great company to work with.

Can I have my Xtension controller AND Xbox controllers as well set up on my system? I am finding it unintuitive to play some of the consoles on my system with the arcade controller and I’m thinking a couple of Xbox controllers would be better for those. Will my control stick and a couple Xbox controllers live in harmony on my arcade cabinet or will it be a big pain in the butt? Thank you!

Thanks. So far I’ve got a Mame/Arcade, Atari 2600, Colecovision, Daphne, Neo-Geo, Sega Genesis and SNES. I might add Vectrex and possibly Turbo Graphics 16 later on. I still have a lot of tweaking to do on it.

So my buddy came over last night and we got my new Recroom Masters 32” cabinet built and we finalized everything earlier today. I have some tweaking to do but for now it’s up and looking great! Super happy with how it turned out. My wife preferred we not put side graphics on it so I just went with a custom marquee. edit: thank you to everyone who helped guide me with all my questions etc. I have a whole bunch more to come!

Is that something different than the importing process that happens when you import roms and you have the various check boxes then the same for EmuMovies for all the different media types? Edit - ok that is different and super cool! Thank you. Question - can you have more than one platform video and have BigBox just randomly run through them? For example - could I have Williams Arcade Classics, Nintendo Arcade Classics etc and just have BB randomly use one when you are scrolling through platforms and hit Arcade?

I found a platform video I like for Mame to run in BigBox however it’s sort of blurry. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on where else to find platform videos other than EmuMovies (which is where I got this one) as this blurry version appears to be the only version of it available on their ftp. This one is just a looping video of Galaga, Donkey Kong etc and not the common one that seems to be filled with a bunch of fighting games (which I’m not really interested in). Looking for more of the 80s Classic arcade games.

Yea it almost seems like it'd be simpler with an xbox controller. Since I have the recroom masters emulator plus with both the spinner with 2 buttons, a trackball in addition to a single 4-way joy with 2 buttons and 2 8-way joys with 6 additional buttons each it may be a bit more involved. I haven't even begun to dive into setting games up with Daphne, SNES, Genesis, NeoGeo, Colecovision and Atari 2600 yet - which really makes me tired. I'll probably just wait until my cabinet is built to mess with all those.

Thank you! I do have an old wireless kb & mouse I repurposed from an old pc at my office.

So my cabinet is supposed to ship this week and I’ve got my pc ready. I have Mame/Arcade, Daphne, Sega Genesis, SNES, Neo-Geo, Colecovision and Atari 2600 working with Big Box and it looks great with all the video preview etc. Spent most of today going through almost 3000 Arcade games and hiding the stuff I don’t want showing up in Big Box and still need to do that with the rest - plus get those specific emulators configured to look their best. That task isn’t nearly as overwhelming as the thoughts of configuring my controller to work with them all is. My question is - is there a simple way of setting up my controller other than opening each and every game and doing it manually? Even if I’d have to go in and clean up some games later. Thinking that something like at least getting all Arcade games set for up/down/left/right matched to my controller joystick 1 would at least help a bit.

Well not really so much Zaxxon but Mame arcade games in general. Using Zaxxon as an example just because I really like it and I’m kinda bummed that the sound doesn’t work. I have the .218 merged set and overall things work great with a few exceptions - such as Zaxxon. So how does one troubleshoot such an issue or is just a matter of waiting on it to be fixed in a future release? I just checked the .219 version and it’s still not working.

Thank you. What I'm not sure of is whether or not those additional items are then available within BigBox - for example - will gameplay videos show in BigBox when scrolling through the various games with an EmuMovies paid membership?

I'm kind of confused about what exactly becoming a paying member of EmuMovies provides with respect to my Launchbox/BigBox membership. I tried looking on the EmuMovies site on the donation page and it says: No download limits Full access to the EmuMovies FTP All media categories available in EmuMovies Sync Special forum title No ADS But really doesn't spell out what paying for it adds to the LB/BB experience and it seems the forums have been infested with spambots - otherwise I'd have tried there.

As I impatiently wait for my Rec Room Masters 32” cabinet, I’m trying to figure out how to turn on the pc once it’s tucked inside the completed cabinet. I certainly don’t want to pull the cabinet out from the wall and press the pc power button every time we want to use it. So then I thought since the xtension arcade emulator edition plus controller sort of mimics the keyboard it’s would be as simple as just letting the pc go into hibernation then spin the trackball or hit any button and it’ll wake up but that doesn’t seem to work as none of the controls will wake up the pc like my keyboard and mouse do. Maybe I’m just missing something but I’m stumped. I know I will be able to open the front door and pull out the keyboard shelf to hit the space bar but I’d really like to be able to use the arcade controller to wake up the pc . Any ideas?

So I got my Xtension Arcade emulator plus (with spinner) controller today and it seems to work great with LB/BB with a couple exceptions. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to get the spinner working (in games like Tempest) or the trackball working (in games like Centipede). I got them working in Mame if just launch it without bigbox by changing the device mapping for trackball, paddle and dial to “mouse” but for some reason that change doesn’t seem to carry over into LaunchBox/bigbox. can anyone help me please? ** never mind! I had LB pointing to another location of Mame vs the location I made the changes to. It’s working great now. Now to just wait for the cabinet to arrive next month.

Just a quick update. I purchased LB/BB premium and tried it with my old gaming PC (checked it and it's an old Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4ghz with 4gb of ram and old Radeon R5 200 gpu. Shockingly - BigBox worked really well with it and the MAME games work fine. The biggest downfall is not having an SSD for Windows, so bootup is slow. I'll probably still buy or build something more current but for now at least I know I don't "have" to buy something for it to at least work. I'll probably just keep an eye on Best Buy and Costco for a really good gaming pc that's on sale. Thanks again for the info!

I understand. Personally I've always preferred Intel and Nvidia to AMD stuff but can appreciate they've come a long way.

Ok then - perhaps the first one I listed and just grab a nvidia gpu and disable to onboard graphics?
