  1. Thanks mate, but I had already run dxdiag - no problems found, and it has the latest driver. So then I tried to roll it back to Direct X11, by changing the version number in the registry to force an update, but that didn't work. It seems its quite difficult to re install DX without the use of third party software, which I'm not too keen on.
  2. Thats interesting that worked. Here is what happened for somebody who know's more about this than me. 3. Yes the MAME application runs. It’s just the roms that I get the error

  5. Oh, ok. Thanks
  6. That's strange. I can't find the mame.ini It's not in the ini folder either
  7. Thanks, Disk Operating System. It is the same guy, I thought I'd start a separate topic because this was straying away from the original topic. You are right about DX9, DX is backwards compatible so DX9 should already be included with DX12. I did update some drivers recently so that could explain why it worked when I first installed the app. A clone of these mame files work fine on my Windows 7 machine. In the ini folder there are examples and presets, and then a whole lot of ini files. Could you please specify which ini file and what do I change the text to for GL, and will I need a GL driver? More info please
  8. I am running the latest Direct X 12 on Windows 10
  9. Thanks alot for the explaination! So if I had a CRT monitor the image would look alot better?
  10. I've been wrong before. But I will take a screen shot of SF2 and the glitch one was only on coin op. However, if I am wrong. Can you please direct me to how to change res and shaders please.
  11. No mate. The pixels are too big. I remember playing Alpha 2 on a coin op game and the resolution was much higher. And I have the original Street Fighter 2, with glitches, and the resolution is way better than this
  12. This is what happens now when I try to run the game in command prompt. Its really weird because it worked before? Anybody know what this error is? It looks like something to do with Direct3D, but all my Direct X is fully up to date. Direct3D: Initialize Direct3D: Configuring adapter #0 = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Direct3D: Using dynamic textures Direct3D: YUV format = RGB Direct3D: Max texture size = 16384x16384 Unable to create the Direct3D device (8876086C) Unable to initialize Direct3D 9 Fatal error: Unable to complete window creation D:\Games\New MAME>
  13. So I now have the full .220 rom set but I am still getting the above error. I don't know how it ran before. I can't get any game to run now : (
  14. Thanks but it says no installation is necessary. I'm getting the full rom set and I'll post back with results
  15. Then when I try to install DX9 I get this
  16. The arcade coin op version should have a higher resolution than the home console versions
  17. Hi all, I have the SSF2T rom but the video quality is very low. Does anybody know if there is an "Arcade" version of this game available. Either this game of Alpha 2 would be fine. PLEEEEEASE!

  19. Ok thanks neil9000, I understand now. But how do I know if a rom set has Street Fighter Alpha 2 in it before I get it. So is "MAME 0.220 ROMs (merged)" a full rom set? And what if the game I want is not in it. Is there a way to find a rom set with the games I want in it, or is it just a case of scrolling down each one until you find one that has the games in it the you want.
  20. Right. Thanks for that. Do you know where to get sfa2? I checked the same place that I got ssf2t but its not there. I did find it somewhere else but it was very small on my screen. An arcade version would be the one.
  21. Its a little out of my depth, but I think the command prompt starts in c:\ by default. You can see that I change the directory to d:\ which is the second drive with my games in it. Windows is of course on C:\
  22. I actually got the wrong game after all that. It doesn't matter though because I still learnt alot about roms ect. The game I wanted is called Street Fighter Alpha 2. Is there a rom for that. Just on this ssf2t its very low res, does anybody know how to up the res? It looks like its only 384 x224 Thanks for all the great help by the way. Its much appreciated.
  23. No, I have 64 bit OS
  24. I un installed and then re installed mame .220 Now ssf2t works but only from command prompt. If I try to run it through windows 10 it just crashes when I try to run the game.
  25. Hahaha, the game actually ran when I tried this the first time, but no sound. I then exited the game, selected all the text but when I right clicked a whole lot of files started running down the screen. When it stopped I tried to run the game again. Now the game won't run anymore. Now, I'm not sure weather the text had anything to do with this, it may have just been copied text, and the game wouldn't have run again anyway. But isn't that strange?
