Then I don't know what to tell you. That's the one that worked for me. My MAME is revision 0.228 and it doesn't appear that rom zip file has had any changes between 0.226 and 0.228. Can you attach your bublbobl.hi file?
My romset might be the problem then. I upgraded to Mame revision 0.226, but I am not sure what my romset version is.

@JoeViking245I am using bublbobl.zip

@JoeViking245 Wondering what version of Mame your are using? I am using Mame64 226.

@JoeViking245 So my issues appear to be game specific as my Bosconian hiscore was uploaded successfully. Could there be a hiscore.dat and hi2txt mismatch?

@JoeViking245 While reading documentation on Hi2Txt, I came across a statement that says you should have a hi file and an nvram file. Is this a true statement? If so, that may be part of the problem. Mame does not appear to be generating an NVRAM file. I only have a Hi file in the Hi folder. I had cleared both folders out of Mame for troubleshooting purposes. Even before I did so, I noticed there was no bublbobl nvram file. What do you think? Also do I need a hiscore.ini file? I don't have one.

Your log says,
"ERROR: Wrong SPECIAL ITEM COUNTERS value (0x3A) encoding detected: it can be due to a temporary corrupted .hi or nvram file"
you could try moving those files out and generating new ones.
neil9000 tried deleting both folders and am still getting the same results.

I've been having problems with my high scores getting uploaded for a few months now. I have attached a debug log after having played Bubble Bobble. This is happening with all mu arcade roms not just Bubble Bobble. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

@JoeViking245 and @neil9000 Thank you so much for your help. Not sure what the difference is between our setups. There may be too many variables to take into account. I was finally able to get a bublbobl hiscore uploaded by downgrading the hi2txt version to 1.10 in my Launchbox. I had used clrmamepro to try and fix my roms, upgraded my mame to revision 0.228. But none of that seemed to help. Well, thanks again! I am happy with the temporary solution! Cheers!
