  1. I have to admit that I use Launchbox just with its plain standard without any playlists or such. That's because I gut so much work to do sorting, revising and importing my game collections for different systems. When I'm done with that (in a decade or so 🤣) I'm definitely going to dig deeper into the organization features of Launchbox.
  2. BioShock Remastered was also the first thing coming to my mind. As much as I like any form of "museum style" bonus content, it is much more intense when it integrates in the world and mood of the game in question. But I also appreciate the little things like the "authentic" playrooms in some of the Classic Console Collections were you actually pick the cartridge of the shelf and put it into the console. It's all about the atmosphere.
  3. It depends on the genre of the game in question I think. Personally I was very satisfied with the remasters of the classic Lucasfilm-Adventures in which you could toggle between the original graphics and an enhanced version of those. Something to satisfy everyone. With action titles I see much less use for the original graphics/sounds because a lot of them simply look terrible on modern displays. It's okay when they are emulated for the purpose of accuracy but it's not what I'd expect from a remaster. It would be fine as a standalone bonus of some sort though. The best approach is really to take the original, understand what made it successful, keep the core elements of gameplay intact and rebuild it. Keep everything that wasn't into the original as an option you can toggle on and off before playing the game. And keep in mind for whom you produce the remaster: Fans of the original games may have other expectations than new players have. And it's real hard to hit both of them equally as shown by various examples.
  4. I'd like to have a Cinemaware-Collection with a little bit more polish to some of the titles, maybe goodies like storyboards, backstories, etc.
  5. While there are already some compilations that put together various old classics in one package (the ever-growing Atari collections come to mind) I'd like to see a special package that takes this kind-a-museum-like approach and focusses on the time of the 199 and 299 ranges of software distributors like Mastertronic, Firebird or Codemasters. Only the best games, shown in their best versions throughout the competeting computer systems of their time with background information, maybe some graphically enhanced versions and such. Okay, I'm absolutely aware that this will never happen due to copyright problems and no longer existent companies but you can always dream, couldn't you? 🙂.
  6. Hi there, this is just a guess cause I'm using Retroarch for VIC20 and do not have much experience on this system. But from your games listed I played "Demon Attack" without any problems. Your screenshots show that you have lots of Expanded Memory activated. Did you try with some different setups? As far as I tried it, the VIC20 tends to have some problems on some games when there is too much RAM recognized. According to this website "Demon Attack" runs on an unexpanded VIC20. Maybe you want to give this a try?
