  1. I'm currently testing what I can do with this thing so I can have my ultimate emulation archive all happy and working. Right now I'm focusing on the MSX system. I can get the games to work with the openMSX emulator that I was experimenting with. But loading them with Launchbox does nothing. At first it wanted to use retroarch. I placed the bios files into the retroarch folder in Launchbox but it just loads up a black screen. I then made a separate emulator entry with openMSX for Launchbox. It looks like its there, I can make the emulator pop up if I right click on a game and select open openmsx emualtor, and it pops up as the program window. But I cant make launchbox load any of these games with either method. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. Side questions... when choosing to add an emulator I have to untick a billion boxes so other systems arent loading up with that emulator. Is there a quick way of doing this or do I have to manually click each box? When the library of games loads up it also loads up system files etc. Can I manually delete them from the library load up list as I didnt see an option when rightclicking on them. Is the openMSX emulator one you would all choose or should I go with different one like fMSX or blue. Thanks for all the help. Quick addition... I installed fMSX for fun and it would load games with Launchbox, so I figured that one out fine. Although I do have an issue with it. The game library in Launchbox just shows names of the game files for MSX2+ games and not an actual library with images. Any advice on this sort of issue?
  2. Thanks for the replies. Is there any situation where a rom file is better to be not zipped so its recognized? And just so I understand, I have to choose the system first and then tell it where the roms are, not select a rom folder and launchbox says oh wait these are snes games I will now make this an snes archive.
  3. I'm sure some or all of these have been asked. I've looked through and not really found what works with me so hopefully some kind people can excuse me for being clueless.. I'll try and make my questions brief so they're easy to understand and not rambly.. 1) When scanning archives of games, will Launchbox understand if there are folders inside the main folder, like A -B _c etc, or do I need them all in one folder. 2) Do the games have to be individually zipped or unzipped, and are both forms ok in the same folder to be picked up on. Same goes for alternate file systems, like C64 tape or disk or cartridge file extensions. 3) Can I be an idiot and put every single rom into one folder, and Launchbox understands whats what to separate everything? I have some other questions but they're mostly to do with the program not launching certain games that work in a separate emulator and vice versa, but I'll hold off on those once I get my whole collection sorted and scanned in. Same goes for joypad control issues. Thanks in advance for any help. I really appreciate it.
  4. You're an absolute legend.
  5. How would I go about doing something like that. And is there a place where people upload ones they've created, if thats possible.
  6. Hope this is in the right section. I recently installed launchbox and have been fiddling a little with it. I ported in my arcade roms and everything was fine. I decieed to do my genesis roms just for fun and noticed the emulator didnt make any categories for it like it did with the arcade. So no platform, shooter etc just genesis all in one. Is there a way to get categories for this and are there other systems I should be aware of that might not have catgeories or you need to do something specific to get them? Thanks for the help.
