  1. thanks @C-Beats that makes sense @Fursphere agree
  2. not sure if bug or feature ... but I have BigBox auto starting, and when a new beta comes out, a popup ask me if I want to install it... IF I choose NO, it will not, BUT if I change to Launchbox after saying NO in BigBox it will launch the installer without asking a second time! again this could be intended behaviour, but I don't like having it auto installing after answering NO!
  3. The cause of the problem was the never builds of mame, have changed something in the data structure, so any score where the level is 2 digits will fail! so a quick way to fix it is to use an older version (like 0.236) of mame, or wait for the developers to start to use the updated .xml file i send them made by the hi2txt guy who was kind enough to fix this! not 100% sure whey the .xml files I send to the mods haven't been included yet, but I guess such things take time! the good news is that it has been fixed, it's just haven't been released yet!
  4. would be nice if there was an official (easy, maybe button in launchbox) way to get your own "wrong" highscores removed .. I'm sure a lot of people would prefer to he their real scores displayed rather than a wrong too high one! I have seen a game crash and just max out the highscore, and then upload that as my new score, feels bad, and now I can't track my progress until an admin takes the time to remove this score, which to be fair they are usually nice enough to do!
  5. found another kinda strange "bug" ... but it looks like DigDug scores fail to upload if they are over 40.000 or there about!? i have had multiple scores upload, but non higher than 38.080, I know it's nothing fancy! so far it launchbox has failed to upload a score of 44.750 and one of 56.860 and another one I forgot to take a picture of ... only thing I can find that these scores have in common is that they are over 40k ... I started deleting the nvram before each run to see if that was it, but it's not! I always test if the highscore server is online before and after a run (by loading the score list) .. and as said before I have successfully uploaded multiple lower score for this exact game... just to check I just ran a game in an old version of mame 0.236 (the first were dome with 0.270) and it too failed to upload a score of 47.560.... so something is rotten in the state of denmark update .. reading the logs .. this line shows up everytime digdug failes to upload a score! "Wrong STAGE value (0x0B) encoding detected" So maybe it's the part of the digdug.xml that defines the stage that get's triggered once you reach a specific (2 digit?) stage and not the score as I first thought!? Someone PLEASE help! update: this has been solver! (will update again when it's public)
  6. just found another one! the game Pop Flamer has the scores listed at the top like this: 1UP High Score 2UP AAAAAA BBBBBB CCCCCC when you play the 1UP score changes .. but even if you score higher than the High Score that score does NOT change! so when your first game is over the High Score is submitted as your score! Then if you play a second time and you beat the high score on your first try THAT score is now submitted .. lol so it almost works .. it just uploads the High Score when it should upload the 1UP score this test was done using mame 0.267
  7. if anyone have 5 min could you PLEASE try this using the latest beta: set theme to "Default" set game view to "Text List with Details" turn OFF "show loading game.." Message then try and start a game from a playlist, play for 10 seconds, and close it again! now does your menus update work when switching between games? mine stops updating, until I go all the way back out of the playlist and re-enter it again! the if I enable the "show loading game message" again it starts updating again .. (tried this on 4 different machines so far all with the same result)
  8. might be a stupid question but can anyone tell me how to tell what version of launchbox wrote a .log file? I have an error: 2024-08-15 10:29:57 PM FIRST CHANCE EXCEPTION: Cannot locate resource 'views/launchbox_theme_folder/fonts/redhatdisplay-black.ttf'. and it shows up if ALL log files from after Debug 2024-08-15 10-29-48 PM this date, and I think it's related to some problems i'm having! ps I attached my newest log file, to show what happens as I start Big Box! Debug 2024-10-14 11-59-25 AM.log
  9. PM sent with data folder and video.. hope this helps
  10. Theme: Default Platform List View: Platform Wheel 1 Games List View: Vertical Wheel 2
  11. last 2 betas have had a small (new) problem in bigbox: if I enter a playlist and scroll down all works fine. then I play a game and exit .. now when I scroll the theme don't update so nothing changes.. if I exit the playlist and re-enter it all works again! this is new and has not happened before the latest 2 betas! i'm running default theme in Tate mode . ... if that makes a difference?
  12. this line is the important one for you .. Launchbox won't upload your score since you have changes some of the DIP switch settings .. to fix this you have to delete the track and field .cfg file inside your mame/cfg folder, and then not touch the dip switches again!
  13. can anyone explain to me how someone can have a hi score on the leader board of around 3mill when the game requires you to score above 100.000.000 to get to enter your initials? I have score above 3 mill a few times to test this, and have not been able to get my score registered .. what does that user know that I don't? is there something in old versions of mame/launchbox that would allow someone to "reset" the default highscore list in a game, lowering the score needed to enter your initials??
  14. this problem also exist with "futaribl" .. as in highcores work in 0.239 and does not work in 0.267! should stuff like this be posted to the bitbucket or is posting it here ok? update: this has been solver! (will update again when it's public)
  15. I love this idea .... just don't know how it would work? lets say there are 3 dip switches in a game: 1: number of lives 3-4-5 2: autofire on / off 3: diffculty easy / medium / hard you set hardmode and don't change anything else ... but I check hardmode and enables auto fire, and so on .. so should we have 18 different highscore lists depending on what people change for this one game? another way to do this would be to select some high profile games, and match their settings with twin galaxies settings, just not sure how that would work in the UI?
  16. "new" versions of mame don't work with batsugun highscore uploading: this is from mame 0.267 where it does not work: TRACE: charset defined: batsugun TRACE: charset defined: CS_NUMBER TRACE: structure definition 10109e:04:00:00101166:70:00:001011b5:01:15:15 does NOT match hiscore.dat definition 10109e:04:00:00101166:50:00:151011b6:20:00:001010de:30:98:fb ERROR: unable to find a structure from the xml definition that matches size and hiscore.dat definition' for game 'batsugun' 2024-07-31 09:38:56 PM MameHighScores.Prepare: No scores found yet. this is from mame 0.239 where it works just fine: TRACE: charset defined: batsugun TRACE: charset defined: CS_NUMBER TRACE: matching structure: hiscore.dat = 10109e:04:00:00101166:70:00:001011b5:01:15:15 TRACE: matching structure: size = 117 TRACE: data taken from file: C:\EMU\MAME0.239\hiscore\batsugun.hi TRACE: structure simple elt: TOP SCORE (4 bytes read on 117) TRACE: structure loop elt (index=0): SCORE (8 bytes read on 117) update: this has been solver! (will update again when it's public)
  17. I get the same error in the log for futaribl.zip, using latest version of launchbox and mame 0.262... (the newest hiscore from this game is from 2024-05-04) TRACE: format auto: hexadecimal_string TRACE: charset defined: futaribl TRACE: charset defined: CS_NUMBER ERROR: unable to find a structure from the xml definition that matches size and hiscore.dat definition' for game 'futaribl' 2024-07-23 12:03:46 PM MameHighScores.Parse: No new scores found to upload! ps most other games upload scores just fine! :)
  18. 2024-05-25 09:10:38 PM WARNING: Attempted to cloud sync but user doesn't have login token this line could indicate problems logging in? try logging out and in again.... I do however think it could be a server side problem, since as of 5 min ago I could not get bigbox to download a highscore list for any of the games I tried!
  19. this also happens for Mame games with the latest beta .. never seen this problem before!
  20. BigBox needs to be restarted to update a "recently played" playlist I made .. pretty sure this has not always been the case? everywhere else in BigBox the recent list are working fine also in the last beta my clock was showing as 24H format, and now it back to am/pm ...
  21. found a dipswitch setting called "Ranking Save" that make the game save the highscores! but now launchbox says " Aborting MameHighScores.Prepare: Dip switches were tampered with." is there a way to toggle the dipswitch called "Ranking Save" without triggering the tampering thing? hope someone can help?
  22. anyone know if there is a way to get your hiscore manually if the auto sync thing failed? I have a .log file, the nvram file, the hiscore file and a personal record, that was just not uploaded :,(
  23. isn't Cloud Sync supposed to be turned on?
  24. just to add to the post above, I had the exact same problem with dig-dug ... and the solution was the same! if I delete the hiscore and nvram files for the game, AND then uses an old version of mame (in this case .239) it all works again .. and the hiscores are uploaded! can anyone else please check if they can upload dig dug hiscores with .260 or never?
  25. Batsugun: anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix this? TRACE: structure definition 10109e:04:00:00101166:70:00:001011b5:01:15:15 does NOT match hiscore.dat definition 10109e:04:00:00101166:50:00:151011b6:20:00:001010de:30:98:fb ERROR: unable to find a structure from the xml definition that matches size and hiscore.dat definition' for game 'batsugun' is there anything I can do, or is this just something I need to wait for someone else to fix? ----update--- the above in with mame .260.. I just tried it with mame .239 and everything worked just fine ...??
