The Same Atari 2600 Frame: What The Emulator Draws, And The Same Frame On Duimon's 1970s HMV Cabinet At 4K.
I've spent the last few weeks getting my LaunchBox set up for a 4K TV: every system on a TV or monitor from its own era using Mega Bezel and Duimon's packs, arcade games in full cabinets, and the artwork filled in.
Doing that by hand took days, so I've turned it into a free setup wizard anyone can run.
Get It On GitHub: shu2600/shus-launchbox-4k-crt-build
What It Does
Builds your LaunchBox library from your own folders, and works out which folder is which system
Fetches the Mega Bezel shader and Duimon's TV packs from their own download pages
Renders one of your games per system in every TV and frame, so you pick the look by clicking a picture
Fills covers, screenshots, 3D boxes, playlists and menu icons from free sources (LaunchBox DB, libretro, ArcadeDB)
Sets MAME's cabinet artwork order if you have Lights Out, the realistic set or the Bezel Project
A Light mode for laptops and older graphics cards
Safe to run again: favourites and play history are kept, and Cancel stops it at any point
Pick A Look From Your Own Game In Every TV.
Tick Your Systems. Your Folders Are Found For You.
It doesn't include, download or point to any games or BIOS. You bring your own.
To Use It: download the ZIP from GitHub and double-click setup.bat. If you don't have Python it offers to install it.
It sits on other people's work: Duimon, HyperspaceMadness, TheNamec, Mr. RetroLust and everyone in the credits. It's a first release, so I'd like to hear what breaks on your setup.
